1. I look forward to future improvements.Love this App! It makes tracking receipts and expenses very easy and fast! I love that it allows you to upload receipts in multiple types.

2. I prefer the photo option to make copies of receipts over the inferior scanning methods.I deliberately came back to google Play just to review this app.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Smart Receipts Issues

1. Fix Smart Receipts Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Smart Receipts: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Smart Receipts App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Smart Receipts" » Open Smart Receipts: Expenses Scan » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Smart Receipts » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Smart Receipts: Expenses Scan app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Smart Receipts servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Smart Receipts: Expenses Scan" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Smart Receipts app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Smart Receipts might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Smart Receipts. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Smart Receipts then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Smart Receipts not working


2. Fix Smart Receipts Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Smart Receipts be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Smart Receipts not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Smart Receipts may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • Help. I have a new phone. How do I get the old receipts I have already recorded on my old phone to the new phone? I backed up my old receipts to the cloud and have downloaded it to the new phone but they don't show up when I try to continue recording receipts on the new phone.
