Very quick (less than a second for text recognition) Very smart (can tell aubtotal from cash) Very good lense (read barely readable receipts) I just wish i could upload my receipts on the cloud! that would be an excellent feature! Update: now the app is NOT free anymore, you have to pay $15/m or $95/yr to get the full features, which is ridiculous! I change the rating from 5 to 3 stars!Love this app! It's exactly what I needed for my business and personal needs.

2. I tried using the app a couple of weeks apart and then forgot about it for a while then removed it from my phone.Excellent OCR scanning! Picks out the sales tax too which most other receipt scanners miss.

6. Also, there are categories I don't need or use, you'd think the ones you use most show up first, alphabetically but No!interface is very intuitive and after taking a photo, it decodes the image quite accurately for the most part (wasnt able to interpret the restaurant name).

9. I do not recommend this app! If I enter info into another month let's say February 2021 or doesn't save it there, it puts the info into any other folder but there, completely frustrating.

10. the total amount is extremely accurate the date not so much the numbers are correct but the format needs an option to set default.

11. most countries format dates dd/mm/yyyy but this uses USA format mm/dd/yy So it stores receipts that have day number less than 12, In the wrong month eg.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Receipt Lens Issues

1. Fix Receipt Lens Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Receipt Lens: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Receipt Lens App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Receipt Lens" » Open Receipt Lens - Expense Tracker » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Receipt Lens » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Receipt Lens - Expense Tracker app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Receipt Lens servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Receipt Lens - Expense Tracker" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Receipt Lens app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Receipt Lens might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Receipt Lens. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Receipt Lens then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Receipt Lens not working


2. Fix Receipt Lens Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Receipt Lens be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Receipt Lens not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Receipt Lens may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
