1. It apparently doesn't have my driver's license information stored because when I try to log in using my driver's license, it can never find me and says it's not a valid way to log in even though I've been a part of the Drive Safe & Save program for years.

2. Also, events recorded don't make sense, and the average score doesn't make sense from the driving records listed either.I wouldn't use it if not for the discount.

3. I've made a couple of contacts to my agent and to tech service about the discount and getting settings right on my phone and I still get messages that the settings on my phone aren't correct.

4. I click on "fix this now", but that just takes me to the app settings, but no clue what is wrong.I have been critical of the braking portion of this app in the past, and after several years of experience, I have realized a more serious issue.

5. I know i can go in and say that someone else was driving, but if I'm supposedly interacting with my phone the entire trip, want that obvious? I have the app set up to open whenever I drive, but it constantly tells me trips aren't recording.

6. And, if you are a regular user of Waze or similar apps to help you navigate directions and avoid traffic, you will be marked down for using a cell phone while driving.

7. The experience has been disappointing and irritating.The discount is great, but the Drive Safe device/app is completely subjective.

8. The braking segment doesn't take into account the real-world no quick stops to avoid issues.Man, so far the app doesn't actually recognize what hard braking is.

9. Getting a low score for braking as one pulls into a very short left hand turn lane is ridiculous.

10. Login should be automatic, based on phone number, since nobody else has the same number.The app doesn't notify you, but you have to update your odometer every so often or you get dropped from the program.

11. Having to deal with password reset or recovery every time I drive, isn't worth the discount.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Drive Safe & Save Issues

1. Fix Drive Safe & Save Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Drive Safe & Save: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Drive Safe & Save App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Drive Safe & Save" » Open Drive Safe & Save® » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Drive Safe & Save » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Drive Safe & Save® app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Drive Safe & Save servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Drive Safe & Save®" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Drive Safe & Save app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Drive Safe & Save might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Drive Safe & Save. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Drive Safe & Save then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Drive Safe & Save not working

  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Drive Safe & Save be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Drive Safe & Save not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Drive Safe & Save may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
