1. For example, penalties while driving during rush hour traffic, but the app doesn't define that time for you, and it doesn't make sense during covid when there's much less traffic anyway (despite google maps API allowing for that info).

2. Night or early morning driving can also create an event however, the app does not take into account your normal safe driving time when you work the night shift.

3. It does not take into account Zoom safe driving mode.The app does pretty well but it does not know when the car is in auto mode and when the car automatically accelerates or when you brake because a reckless driver cuts in front of you forcing you to brake to save yourself from an accident.

4. Also, it'll indicate an "event" of some sort during a particular drive but won't indicate what the event was; hard braking, etc...I realize we have to utilize this when first switching to Traveler's Insurance.

5. My phone stays in my console while I drive, and yet it says I am constantly interacting the phone while driving according to the app.

6. Just got hit with an acceleration incident according to the app while I was not even driving...was I moving too fast in the grocery store? The distraction score is nebulous at best.

7. The app doesn't always sense when you're a passenger; even when you indicate you're a passenger before a drive, it switches you to driver so after the drive you have to switch it back to passenger.

8. Then it's more response time to reload the list of drives to view things again.The app is too sensitive and allows for no context entry/defense for events.

9. For example, I made a trip which was 6 miles from my origin, but the app only recorded the drive as being 0.3 miles.

10. Then, if you view a specific drive then go back it typically takes you to the home screen instead of the list of drives you just left.

11. I live in a "hilly" area, and to maintain consistent speed I must accelerate the engine going uphill.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Travelers IntelliDrive Issues

1. Fix Travelers IntelliDrive Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Travelers IntelliDrive: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Travelers IntelliDrive App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Travelers IntelliDrive" » Open Travelers IntelliDrive® » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Travelers IntelliDrive » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Travelers IntelliDrive® app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Travelers IntelliDrive servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Travelers IntelliDrive®" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Travelers IntelliDrive app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Travelers IntelliDrive might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Travelers IntelliDrive. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Travelers IntelliDrive then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Travelers IntelliDrive not working


2. Fix Travelers IntelliDrive Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Travelers IntelliDrive be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Travelers IntelliDrive not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Travelers IntelliDrive may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

My app will not let me load it past the part that asks me to turn on the fitness tracker part. That does not show up when it redirects me away from the app into my settings. I have deleted it and re downloaded it and rebooted my phone and nothing different happens.

The app said I was distracted when I picked up my phone - going 5 mph in an empty parking lot to just look at the screen. then when I pulled over and STOPPED, I made a phone call. How am I supposed to make a phone call, if I can't even do it stopped? This is very frustrating. How do I communicate to the app that it isn't fair to call it a distraction when it was not? The apps keeps stating that I was at high speed during my trip. But the toll road is 75 MPH and I set my cruise to that speed. Why does it keep telling me I am speeding? Also, It states that I am distracted when I am scanning out of the airport parking area. I then sit my phone down until I arrive at home. Why does it tell me that I am distracted? Thank you.

Since the 2.5.1 update, the app is either only tracking my drives intermittently or not at all. I did verify that I am allowing the app to track my location. This started when the updated came out.
