E*TRADE Customer Insights

1. I use a tablet for my trading, and on the stock information page the buttons to access the company information and analyst's reports bleed completely off the screen, so I can't access them.99.9% perfect! easy to navigate love the fingerprint login option.

2. - Being able to view in the portfolio screen the value assigned to alerts for each specific stock.

3. UPDATE: This issue has cost me $56 so far, taken four hours of my time, and drained my checking account.The new interface doesn't work on Android, Note 10+ at least.

4. The type size on the portfolio page is way too big, and the stock symbol field is way too big, so half the chart bleeds off the screen.

5. Hope this gets fixed Pronto or may need to pack my shares and move providers.The app is ok, if a bit cluttered, but I have to severely lower the rating because, when attempting to initiate a transfer into my account, the app reported that the transfer could not be made "at this time".

6. - Being able to edit an existing alert directly from the portfolio screen.

7. This WILL be a deal breaker, E-TRADE, so please look into this! **Edit: customer service was quick to respond and fix the problem.Used to be a great app, but now stock and options pages don't load well.

8. As state above, the way to improve the app is revert back to your prior version's look, feel, color scheme, and organization of the information.

9. I tried twice more and later found that it had initiated three transfers (with no notifications), resulting in an overdraft of the source account.

10. What used to be visible on one screen is now spread out among many screens.The old version of the mobile app wasn't perfect, but it worked.

11. - Being able to sort the alert list by alphabetical order.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix E*TRADE Issues

1. Fix E*TRADE Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart E*TRADE: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the E*TRADE App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "E*TRADE" » Open E*TRADE: Invest. Trade. Save. » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for E*TRADE » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear E*TRADE: Invest. Trade. Save. app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from E*TRADE servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "E*TRADE: Invest. Trade. Save." » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check E*TRADE app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, E*TRADE might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall E*TRADE. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall E*TRADE then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing E*TRADE not working


2. Fix E*TRADE Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make E*TRADE be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to E*TRADE not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, E*TRADE may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
