Macquarie Customer Insights

1. Have been on the phone for 2.5 hours and counting trying to rectify the situation.App is overall pretty solid but since the last update everytime I try to open my everyday account it just crashes and takes me back to the home screen so I can't view any of those transactions which is very annoying.

Definitely was not a smooth process.Impossibly ridiculous security settings mean that after I had to reset up my phone I can no longer get in to the app as the authenticator options are the only way in, and I obviously can't set that back up again because it can't push to a phone that was wiped.

3. However, my main problem with it was that for some reason it kept locking me out for 'security reasons' and would take 40minute calls to resolve the issue and once it wasn't even resolved (the account was shutdown).

4. Therefore can't move to a new phone, which provides no security as the authenticator is on the same phoneThe app's design and functionality is pretty good.

5. The password I used was correct and so was the ID, so it's been a frustrating experienceI opened an account with the intention of having my pay put in to it - but since I do the majority of my banking via apps this account will be getting closed & I'll go elsewhere.

6. Called the dedicated phone number for scams and then told that they don't know either way if it's a scam but they will cancel your card and dispute outstanding transactions.

7. Probably up there with the other bank apps, behind CBA app which has more features and is arguably the benchmark.This has stopped opening on my phone.

8. Absolutely wasted my time with this one.Good reliable app - easy to set up, along with authenticator which both work well.

9. Using a pixel 5.Security is so good, it won't let you into your own account.

10. I called up recently to unlock my account which was a quick and easy process, but it only worked for one log in.

11. The customer service is great, the app is fine to use, but logging in and transferring to another phone is surprisingly tedious.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Macquarie Issues

    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Macquarie Mobile Banking" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Macquarie app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Macquarie might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Macquarie. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Macquarie then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Macquarie not working

  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Macquarie be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Macquarie not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
