What users are saying

1. Once you're logged in and using the app, it's a pretty good experience, but getting there is a bear, and it's really quite a big deal if you're just logging in for a couple minutes every day or two and you have to spend half your time fighting the app.I'm super disappointed.

2. Then, when trying to close positions it throws in quantities that don't match the account and won't let you close, gives you an incorrect margin error, which caused me to lose thousands on an options trade.

3. Sometimes I wish you could customize the information a bit more though, such as showing positions in dollars instead of shares on the portfolio screen, or showing total change or gain of things somewhere.

4. During the time that you try to login, you could lose money for issues with access, you couldn't sell when you need, just when you complete the long process for access.

5. Logging in takes forever, seemingly requires you to enter your password every single time ever, and requires great effort to comply with the mandatory 2FA.

6. Mobile trading is crucial for me while I still have a job, so I need to defund this account and put all of my money back in Thinkorswim.The app is mostly good.

7. Also, ibot cannot be removed and is super annoying.I've been using this app for awhile and I think it's pretty good overall.

8. It boggles my mind that it can only be done through ibot when a simple dropdown menu would suffice.Awesome app no doubt and I have been a user for last few years.

9. It would be nice if they just synced with your account's existing watchlists (i.e. didn't create phone-specific ones).I like the progress made but there is still room for improvement.

10. I would have given 5 stars if I could see the option combo legs in the portfolio with the profit loss info for the combo.I would not recommend.

11. One thing that I miss is that it does not show the combo legs in the portfolio even with the settings present.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix IBKR Issues

1. Fix IBKR Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart IBKR: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the IBKR App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "IBKR" » Open IBKR Mobile » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for IBKR » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear IBKR Mobile app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from IBKR servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "IBKR Mobile" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check IBKR app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, IBKR might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall IBKR. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall IBKR then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing IBKR not working


2. Fix IBKR Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make IBKR be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to IBKR not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, IBKR may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
