Truist Customer Insights

1. Very frustrating!EDIT: they updated the check deposit and it is much more seamless with less bugs now! Thanks! For our business mobile deposits (which is primarily why I use the app), the back of check does not auto-capture.

2. You can only make one first impression and you blew it! Update 6/21/23, still bad! Mobile deposit is a train wreck, automatic image capture rarely works anymore.

3. Apparently it doesn't recognize that you can receive monthly checks for the same amount from the same customer, despite the fact those checks have different check numbers.

4. Tells me my amount is wrong (it's not, and the check is computer printed, not handwritten) and when I get past that, I get a random "sorry, we're having technical difficulties" error.

5. Very annoying.Truist has been exceptional in providing excellent customer service and security guardrails that immediately alert me when a questionable charge is posted.

6. You would think by now they would have fixed mobile deposit, but I still have issues every time I use it.

7. I am at the point where I am considering changing banks to one that has an app that can at least tell me how much money I have at a glance instead of putting it behind a broken button.I basically only use the app for mobile deposits, and they are spotty at best.

8. Preference to reorder accounts only works on home screen and not globally for other screens.

9. I don't even use the deposit feature anymore due to ongoing issues.When it works, it works and I like it.

10. I constantly have to wait until the menu pop up says "manual capture" to manually take the back of the check photo.

11. I'd hoped this had been fixed since the last time, but nope.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Truist Issues

1. Fix Truist Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Truist: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Truist App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Truist" » Open Truist Mobile » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Truist » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Truist Mobile app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Truist servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Truist Mobile" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Truist app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Truist might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Truist. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Truist then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Truist not working


2. Fix Truist Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Truist be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Truist not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Truist may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • I have I am a truist customer and I made a
    check deposit of 4k and you guys
    wouldn't give it to me because y'all said it
    was fraud and idk how if I was the one that
    made the deposit and then today I look on
    my account and there was $800 but I tried
    to withdraw it and it isn't letting me
    withdraw my $800 I don't understand why
    and I need my money out of my bank or I
    am going to file a complaint about YALL and sue y’all
