1. Very frustrating, has anyone else tried using this app with success?For everyone having an issue with the app connecting and no traffic passing, there was a firmware update around April that removed compatibility for the Compression Control Protocol - which is the protocol that Android phones use for SSL VPNs.

2. If using SonicWALL's SSL-VPN to connect to a small office network that does not have internal DNS, you must use WAN DNS addresses (such as 9.9.9.9, etc).

3. If NetExtender works, so does this! I've even been able to print a document at my home office remotely!Tapping on the notification should take you to the app's main screen instead of the app's info in settings.

4. iPhone/iPad version works fine so I know it's not a device configuration.So far so good! I installed this on my Android phone quite some time ago.

5. I have no issues connecting with other devices, but when I try to use this, it fails and says either no supported sonicwall device or that it is offline.

6. I use the SonicWall Global VPN client on other devices without issue.Can not connect but once in a blue moon.

7. I was able to reach the one private site I need by replacing a portion of the url with the IP address but must disconnect to continue working on other issues.

8. Always says "Connection closed by peers" however on my PC and everyone elses it works just fine.. I have the correct info typed in, when i try to use the mobile app.

9. Once I installed the firmware update, the app started working as expected.Used to work, doesn't now.

10. Good thing I have presaved inputs or this thing would be totally unusable and yeah this includes the MFA inputs each time you use it.App has been broken and completely useless for months now.

11. Seems like the latest version doesn't pass traffic with certain firewalls.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix SonicWall Issues

1. Fix SonicWall Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart SonicWall: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the SonicWall App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "SonicWall" » Open SonicWall Mobile Connect » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for SonicWall » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear SonicWall Mobile Connect app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from SonicWall servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "SonicWall Mobile Connect" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check SonicWall app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, SonicWall might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall SonicWall. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall SonicWall then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing SonicWall not working


2. Fix SonicWall Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make SonicWall be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to SonicWall not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, SonicWall may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
