1. What kind of inspection software automatically deletes your saved inspection sketch and notes after 2 days for no apparent reason and without them even being available in the deleted section!? Beware!Great on a tablet the phone version gets weird but I've forgotten my iPad at the office a couple times and being able to use it on my phone is very handy! The only thing I'd improve is the phone interface because when your trying to sketch there are some buttons that's don't show.I have been using this for over 2 years.

2. Not sure if that's the app, my phone camera, or the communication between the two.was working great for the past four years, but updating to the new Galaxy S10, it takes horrible photos, we really need an update so the photos are not blurry with the total camera.

3. When I use the total camera, the resolution is set below the lowest setting in total and cannot be changed20 Year Alamode customer using Alamode Mobile Inspection technology for nearly 20 years.

4. It's hard to make plywood and paper double cross you, in the field.As of 6/23/21 I wanted to give 3 stars due to some recent glitching/lagging/odd ball stuff... BUT I'm giving 4 stars bc total for mobile has been truly amazing.

5. How? How can a week old photo just, migrate itself into another field inspection? Why do so many pictures go missing in this software? Why is it so expensive for software that simply falls short in every category except floor covering and utilities? Comical.

6. A photo from a field report five days older than the report I'm typing today, shows up in random order, within the other report's field picture pages.

7. I really like having all of my work files stored within Total for Mobile so I have immediate access, even during times with no internet access.

8. And thats when the camera doesnt fail and randomly start not allowing photos to be taken or uploaded into the report.

9. An update to the app (or to the MS Surface Duo) prevents the sketch from working properly when sizing the app for both screens.It's a great app, but I work in meters not feet, no way to change it.

10. This app is driving me back to a clip board because I literally, never lost a photo using a digital camera.

11. The last inspection I did with the system camera resulted in an import file size in excess of 60 mg.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix TOTAL Issues

1. Fix TOTAL Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart TOTAL: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the TOTAL App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "TOTAL" » Open TOTAL for Mobile » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for TOTAL » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear TOTAL for Mobile app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from TOTAL servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "TOTAL for Mobile" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check TOTAL app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, TOTAL might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall TOTAL. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall TOTAL then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing TOTAL not working


2. Fix TOTAL Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make TOTAL be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to TOTAL not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, TOTAL may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
