Why should I report an Issue with OS Maps: Explore hiking trails?

3. Importantly, customers can learn from other customers in case the issue is a common problem that has been solved before.

1. Will work on my phone but using the larger printer screen computer allows more clarity and the end product can be printed off.The topography available on the Premium service and offline maps are fantastic.

2. It's annoying as it adds the mileage of the straight line, and therefore doesn't give me an accurate distance of the walk I've done.A very useful tool to have when walking either in the countryside or built-up areas.

3. They may be essential to navigation, but you have to print a route card at home to list them, then hope you don't miss them as you walk.Possibly the worst app I've ever used made by a big company.

4. When I'm recording a route, and I pause the recording (for example while I have a short break), the app seems to think I suddenly shoot off in a completely straight line, and then back AGAIN while I'm paused.

5. Ideally there should be an option to lock zoom too (similar reasons).Been using the app for months to plan and follow hikes.

6. The biggest oversight is that when you are recording an activity, you are essentially locked out of all the other app features and cannot return to the main screen.

7. While a little clunky I was able to generate walk maps and print them when required.

8. I can plan a great route on the web version, with detailed waypoints.

9. For me it starts up instantly, has never crashed and doesn't excessively drain my battery (Pixel 5).Obviously you can't beat the quality of the maps, but that isn't why I'm reviewing the app.

10. There needs to be an option to lock the map orientation for ease of use on the move with gloved hands.

11. I've been using a 3 year old Honor 9 Lite without issue for 3 years, it's a budget but decent phone.

1. Fix OS Maps Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart OS Maps: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the OS Maps App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "OS Maps" » Open OS Maps: Explore hiking trails » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for OS Maps » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear OS Maps: Explore hiking trails app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from OS Maps servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "OS Maps: Explore hiking trails" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check OS Maps app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, OS Maps might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall OS Maps. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall OS Maps then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing OS Maps not working

2. Fix OS Maps Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make OS Maps be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to OS Maps not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, OS Maps may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
