1. I've tried reinstalling the app, clearing the cache, disabling my VPN, using data instead of WiFi, enabling location, and had multiple emails back and forth with support, but have been completely unable to log in.Some "genius" at bolt decided that it's a good idea to blast to customers messages about discounts regardless of what time it is for the recipient.

2. No one actually listens.Weird stuff, if the driver waits for you 2+ minutes you are taxed additionally, but if I wait for the driver for 10 minutes in a context where the app shows 2 min left throughout the entire time, that's fine.

3. I won't use it.Cars usually don't arrive at your exact location but the app would say car arrived and started ticking the clock that u have 2 minutes free wait time when the car is like 1 block away.

4. If they change the pick up time then they should lower the price because you have to wait longer, even 20 minutes longer, even if the initial time to pick up would be just 2 minutes.

5. And too expensive for just a few minutes of usage.Good drivers overall, but customer support has become really bad in the last few months.

6. It gets frustrating with the long list, also when ever a driver temporarily uses a different car due to any reason - can Bolt have a function that specifies that the driver's details will be updated as it is Bolt's responsibility to inform us of such for our safety.

7. Previously I'd get support within a few minutes if there was an issue with my ride, but now it's really slow.

8. Although I have explained the issue in SO much detail and provided a screenshot every single time, support were absolutely useless.

9. I think they do it on purpose to charge more on wait time, not ethical or professional.Unable to create an account.

10. The problem that I encountered was after booking a ride the driver contacted me & told me that the ride would be double the amount shown by the app.

11. Also the driver has the ability to say he arrived prior to reaching my exact location.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Bolt Issues

1. Fix Bolt Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Bolt: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Bolt App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Bolt" » Open Bolt: Request a Ride » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Bolt » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Bolt: Request a Ride app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Bolt servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Bolt: Request a Ride" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Bolt app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Bolt might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Bolt. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Bolt then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Bolt not working


2. Fix Bolt Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Bolt be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Bolt not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Bolt may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

Good day on the 5th of February 2021 friday night I requested a bolt from helen joseth street to 566 pretorius street around 21:55 Spencer maruthu was the driver the name of the driver I lost my phone in his car i couldn't get hold of him cause his contact details were already removed on my history i was able to track it but it was switched off the following day around 11;00 Can you please help me find it or the driver thank you Your help will be highly appreciated

Dear all just would like to ask if you are still recruiting a new driver. I have filed the application and send all the documents the last step I'm still waiting for is to book an appointment unfortunately I have not been called . Thank you.

my bolt account just got blocked reason being for unpaid trips I actually paid the driver so please can my account be unblocked

Hello, I am in nairobi spending some vacation, but i fell very bad with bolt. I have the android app with credit card. sometimes drivers doesnt come, or very slow or they dont move.......... in all cases before if i cancel, bolt charge me the trip. And this is not ok. Yesterday charged me 3 trips for nothing service. very bad.
