1. They already have your money.We just upgraded our business phones to Droid Turbo 2 with Android 6.0. This app worked perfectly on our old Droid Turbo phones with Android 5.1. With the new phones, you cannot create new address book entries because it will not let you type anything into the information fields.

2. Its people like us with experience that need to spread the word that's what will help us receive help or condemn a bad company......I have installed several Lorex Edge systems, many with PTZ cameras.

3. the email notification has not been working for a WHOLE year already....App will not work on newer Android phones.

4. The only way to get this app to (somewhat) work on the Turbo 2's, we had to copy the address book files from the old phones and import them into the LorexMobileEdge folder on the new phones (we had to reboot the phones to get them to work).

5. If I have to update my DVR to get playback functionality back, you can bet it won't be another Lorex product.I have had Lorex DVR and cameras for a while but their software has the trademarks of a high school project and this app does not disappoint this statement.

6. We need all features of this app to work properly, or we will not be able to install any more Lorex Edge systems.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Lorex Issues

1. Fix Lorex Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Lorex: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Lorex App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Lorex" » Open Lorex Mobile-Edge » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Lorex » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Lorex Mobile-Edge app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Lorex servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Lorex Mobile-Edge" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Lorex app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Lorex might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Lorex. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Lorex then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Lorex not working


2. Fix Lorex Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Lorex be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Lorex not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Lorex may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
