1. Love the new look and feel of the app but can this be updated so the screen does not timeout with the audio playing in the background and no image.This "new app" is clearly still a beta version, very glitchy and not user friendly.

2. Also seemingly no longer possible to track my visits to the gym? For those getting the "no internet connection" I solved this by going into settings on Android, going to the Virgin App and clearing all data and the cache.

3. It keeps saying 'check your internet connection' or 'incorrect password'.

4. It keeps saying, "Please check your internet connection and try again." No matter what I do I keep getting the same message.

5. The new app's design (and that of the older version) is not user friendly, it doesn't have an intuitive feel to it and it seems to busy.

6. Great idea to add rewards to help motivate people, unfortunately it is poorly implemented.Ever since the new version of this app was released I haven't been able to log in.

7. It definitely is not an internet connection problem, because it says the same when connected to several different wifi networks and also when connected to my data.

8. Error messages range from mismatching passwords to check your internet connection.

9. Tip for users: Screenshot your access code so you can still scan into a VA club even if the App is down.Previous version of this app worked fine, but since downloading the new version I can't sign in at all.

10. Really bad image for Virgin Active.The new app is so poorly designed from a technical and UI perspective, what were they thinking? I've been logged out and now I can't log in at all.

11. After about two weeks of being logged in, I got logged out and now I can't log back in because of a "Please check your internet and try again" error.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Virgin Active Issues

1. Fix Virgin Active Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Virgin Active: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Virgin Active App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Virgin Active" » Open Virgin Active » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Virgin Active » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Virgin Active app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Virgin Active servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Virgin Active" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Virgin Active app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Virgin Active might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Virgin Active. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Virgin Active then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Virgin Active not working


2. Fix Virgin Active Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Virgin Active be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Virgin Active not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Virgin Active may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
