1. Star Mobile Time and Expense Entry enables professional users of the Star Practice Management system to record, review, submit and approve time spent and expenses incurred on client jobs and non-chargeables, using their Android phone.
2. Users can quickly select clients and jobs from their History of previous time and expense entries or can optionally carry out remote searches on the firm’s Star Practice Management database to find clients and jobs.
3. Star Mobile includes improved authentication via Microsoft ADFS, Microsoft Azure AD and forms-based authentication using the Microsoft Identity framework.
4. Contact your firm’s Star support team for the final step to configure Star Mobile to work with your Star Practice Management business data.
5. If your firm uses Active Directory (AD) for authentication, Star Mobile now works with ADFS 3 and Azure AD to provide secure SSO authentication for users.
6. The Star Mobile application leverages the rich functionality provided by your firm’s Star Practice Management system.
7. Further Star Mobile apps are in development and will be made available over the coming weeks and months.
8. In the Expense module, you can now not only enter and submit your expenses, but also photo and attach your expense receipts to your expense claims.
9. Those with privileges can also approve their own expenses.
10. If you're not using AD, then Star provides user registration and forms-based authentication based on the Microsoft Identity framework.
1. For some reason it does not gather all the back end data. The entire star program is just very glitchy and poorly designed. It seems a bit slow and outdated. This works except for two significant deficiencies: • The app should allow for fingerprint authentication.
2. The main advantage for using a mobile time and expense app is to be able to report expenses as they occur (i.e., dinner while traveling).
3. It crashes, takes forever to load and does not reflect all entries that I had input using the standard desktop program.
4. I come from a big firm and I can't understand with all the money we pay, the app isn't working.Imagine coding an app that doesn't even have error messages when it breaks.
5. This is particularly bothersome because it has been reported to the provider by our firm, yet nothing has been done to fix it.This is literally the worst app I have ever used in my whole life.
6. Network single-signon passwords can be cumbersome and entry error prone on a mobile app.
7. • Any entry past 6pm (I am in the US Central Time Zone) defaults to next day and I have to correct it each time.
8. Been using the app for two years with ZERO improvement.
9. This thing is an unmanaged joke with nobody working on it.I wish I could give this zero stars.
10. Worst ever! As an software engineer, I have exhausted every possible excuse to defend this app.
11. I have to redownload to submit my time if I want to use this app.
