1. Other than that "Zippy" does an amazing job keeping my floors free of dog hair.the app works as expected and actually deservesat least 3 stars even 4, you get full control of your item, BUT I cannot understand the need of my location!! that pisses me off terribly, it won't connect to my vacuum unless my phones has the location on, WHY?! for God's sake, why does my vacuum, that I manage via Bluetooth, needs to know my location?!?! One star until that requirement gets removed.Love this app & cleaner.

2. Connects to my smartech 20v Max battery quickly and maintains it connection well as long as you're within the normal range for a Bluetooth connectionI like that you can control the vacuum with the app.

3. I am now wondering if I should return the whole thing.Controlls are good, but you almost need them to get the vacuum back to the docking station.

4. Scheduling doesnt work (even if it did, it doesnt unless your phone is connected to it so no away from home cleaning...).First, I needed the app to bring the drill to work: ridiculous.

5. Connects to my vacuum, shows me battery level and status but... Thats about it.

6. Yes it bugs me but I can't change rugs to make the robot happy.Works as expected.

7. The B&D robot works good too but 2 large area rugs that I have are too high for it to vac.

8. Has driven passed the charge station multiple times, as well as driven over it.I named mine "zippy" and enjoy the convenience of using an app to control it.

9. Vacuum is unresponsive to anything in the app, i have to start the vacuum manually.

10. overall, I'd say it's a successful app.works great.

11. It has gone over the edge and down the stairs and it still works perfectly!App works as it should & I like it very much.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix BLACK+DECKER Issues

1. Fix BLACK+DECKER Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart BLACK+DECKER: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the BLACK+DECKER App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "BLACK+DECKER" » Open BLACK+DECKER » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for BLACK+DECKER » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear BLACK+DECKER app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from BLACK+DECKER servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "BLACK+DECKER" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check BLACK+DECKER app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, BLACK+DECKER might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall BLACK+DECKER. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall BLACK+DECKER then reinstall.
