2. Microsoft Translator is a free, personal translation app for more than 70 languages, to translate text, voice, conversations, camera photos and screenshots.
3. You can also download languages for offline translation for free to use when you travel.
4. Microsoft Translator is powered by cutting-edge technology used by Office, Bing, Skype, and Edge as well as by partners such as Adobe, LinkedIn and more. *Some features are not available in all languages.
1. There are still a few bugs every once in a while with the conversations getting disconnected or the audio not picking up the right words.Pretty friggin impressive! ...and I'm definitely not a Microsoft fan ;) I'm using this for real-time translations of English Lithuanian conversations with bi-directional audio! Yes, LITHUANIAN! I know of no other translation app that's currently doing English-to-Lithuanian translation with audio playback in both languages.
2. Assuming it actually hears the speech you're trying to translate, and it's accurate (which would surprise me), it could be a good option due to the handy features it has, like phrases (which really, not sure how useful they would actually be, since it would probably be quicker to just speak and have it translate), translating with the camera, and the ability to manually hold down the record button.
3. Also, for languages like Japanese, Greek, Russian and others that use characters different from English, it would be very helpful to be able to enter those special characters or to have them automatically input when you type in the "Romanized" versions of words in those special languages.
4. I have NO proficiency in their language so being able to make a conversation and use our own devices or using one device with split language audio input is amazing.
5. Kind of pointless to be able to detect a spoken language and then only be able to copy the translation, because in the spoken language it can mean many things depending upon the exact phrase.
6. Enable the feature to copy the languages for the audio input and I'll give it five stars, because as of now I'm more inclined to just delete it and use another service.Opens & works fine when it wants.
7. So the app appears to work okay if one is using the voice translation feature, but if you want to learn how to speak the phrases, it's not the way to go.This is so far the best app for translating.
8. 2 thumbs up!!It used to allow you to copy the detected input language in the audio translations, but after an update it's not even an option.
9. Microsoft's easy translator from english/spanish or reversed, with larger print for those with mature eyes👁👁.. I love it♥️ A plus for any reader as the print is easily read regardless of lighting💯%I use it as a teacher to teach some students with very low proficiency in English.
10. The first two are most common and the third is for special cases.]Wasn't expecting much since it's MS, so not disappointed, but this is tied with one other app I've tried of several for being the worst at recognizing speech from a speaker, not registering it at all.
11. Equally as positive is the quality of the translation, at least relative to Google Translate's translations, which are pretty solid for Lithuanian.
