About HID Reader Manager

1. Administrators can easily adjust configuration settings, upgrade firmware, inspect and export current reader status, and upgrade compatible readers to support Bluetooth and/or OSDP. -Bluetooth is used to communicate with the reader hardware.

2. HID Reader Manager streamlines management of compatible HID Signo, iCLASS SE® and multiCLASS SE readers in the field.

3. If Bluetooth is not enabled communication to readers will not function. -Calendar is used to log the error/information.  If Calendar is not enabled logging will not function. -Location is used to obtain the location of the Reader for administration purpose and improving user experience.  If Location is not enabled communication to readers will not function.

1. Also, when working, the amount of times I have to power-cycle a reader to read it and update is annoying.Simply does not work made an online account swipe programming card takes forever to inspect keypad multicast Se when inspect finaly opens im not authorised.

2. Crashes everytime I try to log in.Annoying that I need to create an online account to try to read a card I was given by my work.

3. I am trying to upgrade reader firmware and it crashes everytime during inspection report.

4. Thinking about removing keypads and use different product.When it works its great, but most of the time I get "hid server issues" and that kills my projects to commission if they're not configured until the server works again.Have installed and uninstalled twice with the same results.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix HID Reader Manager Issues

1. Fix HID Reader Manager Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart HID Reader Manager: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the HID Reader Manager App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "HID Reader Manager" » Open HID Reader Manager » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for HID Reader Manager » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear HID Reader Manager app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from HID Reader Manager servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "HID Reader Manager" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check HID Reader Manager app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, HID Reader Manager might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall HID Reader Manager. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall HID Reader Manager then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing HID Reader Manager not working


2. Fix HID Reader Manager Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make HID Reader Manager be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to HID Reader Manager not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, HID Reader Manager may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
