1. Also, the light from the white screen shines so brightly on the back of my phone that it reflects onto the the slide being captured--not good.
2. Use your printer/scanner instead.BEWARE! CANNOT CANCEL FREE TRIAL! The quality of the pictures is horrible even after being more than two inches away from screen.
3. It works! I found the best way to do this was to buy a "Helping Hand" tool that holds the slide steady in front of a blank Word screen on my laptop.
4. Make a simple slide platform that holds the slide about 1" from the screen and another platform to hold the phone 5" above the slide.I've really enjoyed using SlideScan.
5. It could be my inability to both hold the picture perpendicular to the lighted screen and hold my phone still with the camera in focus.
6. Horrible way of doing business.I inherited my Dad's 35mm slide collection and wanted to digitize them to share with family members.
7. However, the app chooses what part of the photo to focus on, despite the instructions which claim you can chose, so some slides turn out a bit blurry no matter what distance you use.
8. Cons: Focusing is entirely manual, by moving a slide back and forth in front of the phone camera.
9. Went to Google Play to cancel and it says I'm in a 3-day free trial but gives no option to cancel.
10. You immediately have to update to the $24.99 TRIAL version paid per year! It keeps your scanned pictures and you can't get them out of the app unless you upgrade or pay to have them printed.
11. My family has old projectors that I could have drug out and used to see old slides, but this app has enabled me to not only easily see the pictures, but instantly have a digital copy.
I want to cancel my subscription to SlideScan.
Thank you.
