Video Editor & Maker Customer Insights

1. Had to download "glitch" transition sound off some sketch site.So much better than canva... Free video editing has never been easier! Unlock advanced features, get rid of ads&a very unobtrusive watermark in lower corner(not splayed across center) go Pro for only $13/year or $3/month (I think) - I went Pro for $6.50/year during a 50% off holiday sale.

2. Other than those two things, I'm very pleased.I've been using Inshots for as long as I can remember, years now!! And everytime I need a video edited or simply a photo, inshot is super easy to use, and efficient.

3. However, PLEASE add the extra features the IOS app has, like switch tracks, ease keyframes, and auto track!! Also, I keep having a problem with the ends of multiple timeline layers not snapping to the same place, which causes one to disappear before the other.

4. Sometimes the video will slow down and glitch for some reason or it'll get stuck on one clip while the audio is playing, and by the time it sorts out it'll skip to the end of the next clip.

5. The audio/sound effects libraries are full of great music and sound effects- you can even put sound effects ON YOUR VOICE! Once again, I really like this app- the only thing to consider is that you don't get everything with the free version.EDIT AS OF 6/25/23.

6. Unlike a lot of other editing apps, this apps has the options to purchase the watermark off or simply taking it off by simply watching an ad! Highly recommend using (:Appalling.

7. It's been fine until more recently, where the videos sort of "freeze" during the editing but the audio continues.

8. This app is better than most of the "top rated" free video editing apps.

9. Sometimes playback starts from the beginning of the source material video, not the edited clip.

10. And it would be awesome to have the ability to rotate manually for small adjustments - something besides just 90, or 180 degrees.I LOVE this app! With InShot, you can make and edit videos easily and quickly.

11. Also, it would be nice to get the details sticker for pictures and not just videos, so we're able to blur/distort faces and stuff in still photos.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Video Editor & Maker Issues

1. Fix Video Editor & Maker Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Video Editor & Maker: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Video Editor & Maker App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Video Editor & Maker" » Open Video Editor & Maker - InShot » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Video Editor & Maker » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Video Editor & Maker - InShot app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Video Editor & Maker servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Video Editor & Maker - InShot" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Video Editor & Maker app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Video Editor & Maker might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Video Editor & Maker. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Video Editor & Maker then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Video Editor & Maker not working


2. Fix Video Editor & Maker Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Video Editor & Maker be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Video Editor & Maker not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Video Editor & Maker may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • Hi, it's just showing a black screen when I'm editing, I'm using a Chromebook, I've tried clearing cache, reinstalling, allowing all permissions but still can't get it fixed.   • I put all of my pictures and videos of my kids in to your app to create a flashback of their year for remembrance. When I went to save the video, all of my videos got taken away. They are just gone now. I would really appreciate some help trying to recover them.     1. Open app and open second app in MW.
    2. Scroll through app.

    [Actual results]
    Cannot scroll through app.
    On some devices (Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G) the icons for Video, Photo, and Collage are not reachable unless the app is resized.

    [Expected Results]
    Should be able to scroll through app so that icons can always be reachable

  • I had two drafts that were saved that I spent very long time on and when I went back into the app they were gone. I never deleted them. If there is no way to get them back I will be extremely upset. This app has no point if it doesn’t save your drafts.

  • Hi,

    I was editing a video using InShot this week, it said it was having trouble saving it and kept telling me to retry saving. I simply closed the app and went back on it and 2 of my recent videos which I’ve been working on for quite some time got deleted.

    Is there a way to retrieve it? All my video drafts from the past are still available on the app. Just these 2 most recent video drafts got deleted.

  • Hello, this is my second time writing to you but the first time through this website. I continue to have an issue that says I'm not a pro user even though I have a membership. This just happened in the last 2 weeks. I followed the instructions I'm signed into my Gmail account that I'm writing to you from I uninstalled the app and reinstalled and I still continue to have the problem.     I have enjoyed using InShot for short videos. It saves me time compared with a ‘bigger’ video editor and it is good for making a copy at a different format e.e. 9:16 to 16:9
    BUT
    I run into difficultiesduring editing if I need to cut away to an image or B-roll scene.

    Are there any plans to add this to InShot? It’s quite a basic feature…

  • Hello,

    I realized that your text sizing system is different on ipads and iphones. For example, size 20.4 on ipad air is the same as size 9.0 on iphone 7+ (roughly). In general I found that the ratio of text size on ipone7+ to ipad air 2019 is 1:2.23 roughly. As I will be editing videos on ipads and iphones of different models, and need to re-join them afterwards, which means the texts have to be of the same size. Could you possibly please let me know the ratio of the text sizes across different ios devices? Your kind help would be very much appreciated. Thank you very much.

  • Hi there, I purchased a Premium version of Inshot last year on my Android cellphone and the videos are so blurred when I post them to my Youtube Channel. But my husband has an Iphone and he has a free version of Inshot but he can save his videos in 4K whereas on my Android cellphone with my Premium Version I can only save a video up to 1080P. That's not fair. How do I save a video in 4K on my Android phone. I paid for a premium version for God's sake.

  • Im trying to add my debit card to make purchases on Google Play Store and to Purchase YouTube Premium. But I can't seem to add my Debit card to do the needful. Evertime I add the card, it just returns the error "Correct this card info or try a different card."

  • Hello. Im trying to finalize and save a draft video but it keeps saying "elements of draft are missing." I cant figure out what to fix or what is missing and cant move forward and use my video.

  • Hi, so i'm not the type of person who has the app Inshot constantly on their phone, I just download it once in a while when i feel like i need to use it, the last time i used inshot was weeks before i bought a new phone, today i downloaded inshot again on my new phone because i need to edit some video, and then it says that i subscribed for a year, which i didn't, so i checked my purchased history and it charged me for buying the subscription which i didn't do. I never use the app anyway so i just realized it now, it says that i subscribed on September 3rd, and i didn't edit any video on Inshot on September 3rd, so is there any way that you could cancel it and give me back my money? Because i haven't used it since, thankyou.

    Lately I've been unable to export the videos I edited from (iphone 6 ) to my phone gallery. It gives me a notice as "interrupted" please can you help me fix this
    I dont want my efforts wasted please😭🙌
    I'm using my infinixs phone to send this message but I do my edits on Inshot using the iphone6

    In case you cannot receive my email sent to you on 21/9 (this Monday) regarding to the subtitles in different languages put on the video, I'm writing to ask for your support to check if I can add subtitles in Khmer and Sinhala to the video (I'm using advanced InShot app to edit the video).   • Dear InShot team,

    We are making a video using InShot software (advanced) and would like to add subtitles that be shown on the video. However, we found that the texts in Sinhala and Bengali can not be shown properly on the video. We are thinking if there is any way that we can put subtitles in Sinhala and Bengali on the video. Please advise.

  • Hola. Compré la versión pro en $29.99, pero al cambiar mi aparato celular ya no tengo la versión pro. Aun dándole a la opción restaurar compras no me deja hacerlo. Agradecería mucho su respuesta. Pienso que no sería justo pagar dos veces por lo mismo.
