1. A photo display application like a digital photo frame showing a nice slideshow of all photos from the selected source. * Digital Photo Frame will randomly display the photos in the folder and arrange them on the screen according to your selected layout. * The orientation of the photos is fixed if the EXIF tag is present. * Open an image from another application and use that folder as photo source. * Click on a displayed photo to show it full screen and share or delete the photo.
2. Turn your android device in a digital photo viewer showing a slideshow of local files, photos from network shares (samba/smb).
3. Digital Photo Frame is optimized for tablet(HD) use but also works on a phone.
4. The photos can also be selected from your Flickr, Google Photos or Dropbox account.
5. The premium version is ad-free.
6. This is the ad-supported version.
7. Digital Photo Frame uses jcifs ( ) for network shares.
1. I particularly like (1) works properly on several devices I have tried it on (2) pulls photos from a network drive (e.g. USB stick plugged in to my router) (3) Auto-start mechanism works well (4) Displays all the JPEG formats that I have thrown at it so far (which is more than can be said for some apps) (5) Flexible options for things like transitions, caching, photo order, etc.
2. God help you if you need to alter any actual program settings or select a different source option - even a different folder on your own network - because I have yet to find a way to open that menu anywhere. Can't cast or even see how to... I can cast videos from my tablet from multiple apps with no issues.
3. Used to be a very good app, but now it fails to get to the folder from which I can access my SD card, and also seems to crash at the first menu screen it brings up once you open the app.
4. What's terrible is that there appears to be no way to change the source folder, or any options at all other than the transition effects and photo resolution.
5. Main folder list displays but cannot open any any to select those containing photos.
6. I've turned cache off too and it still downloading every image until the app closes. You would be shocked how hard it is to set up a properly customizable photo slideshow on a Chromebook.
7. All I want to do is cast a slide show from a locally stored photo collection.
8. It may be a daydream function, but the app only intermittently starts now. This is the best photo frame app I have found so far.
9. Tried a similar app concurrently and worked fine using NAS so must be this app at fault. This app should have 5 stars across the board.
10. Though this app says it can do it and I can do a slideshow there is no obvious icon for casting or any menu for selecting the Chromecast device.
11. I bought the premium version right away - very good for the price. No longer works on my Note8.
