1. I thought with the purchase, ads would be stop at at least be more limited, but nope even more ads, fail.This app does Not work , use the remote just pressing my screen a couple times and bam an add , over and over then it will not find your smart TV over and over ... Trash this App , don't load it unless your ready to uninstalle....Horrible every 3rd time I press the right or left button it's an add that lasts longer than the app stays open so on music I can't skip forward EVER! So stupid, and rude!I love this remote contral the only thing i dont like about this remote contral is you cant turn the first with remote you still got use the remote contral to turn the tv on.

ThanksOverall it's a good app, it does as marketed and it's easy to use, the only issue I have with the app and is causing me to look for an alternative is the ad quantity, within 3 clicks it's another ad so if you're trying to click through options quickly the ads just keep popping up, within the last 4 minutes I've clicked in multiple ads due to me looking for a video on YouTubeI paid for premium lifetime access, I've emailed multiple times about the issue and I still have ads.

3. If I can't adjust the volume with the free app, then it's useless to me.Can't access pull down menus or rewatch videos on YouTube because ads pop up several times and the menu is often gone by the time the ad is over.

4. When trying to search I cannot type in more than one letter at a time because of all the ads! I thought I paid more $$ to buy the app instead of subscribing to it.Too many ads interrupt the process of getting to your show, which is very annoying.

5. Also it won't control the volume on the TV unless I pay for a monthly/yearly subscription fee (a Replacement tcl roku remote is cheaper).

6. Its great once the tv is one you dont have to keep looking for the remote contral.

7. Also, every time I tried to adjust the volume it took me to the pay for the app screen.

8. The thing that satified about this virstion is look up everthing what the remote dose but the tv has to be on no matter.

9. I could deal with a few ads, but these pop up every few seconds and it took me over 15 minutes to sign into my Roku account because of the ads popping up while typing.

10. 1 star because of the tremendous amount of ads everytime you touch a button.

11. It's less hassle to just buy a new TV or go without.This app was easy to install and had a nice appearance on my phone.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Remote Issues

1. Fix Remote Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Remote: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.

    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Remote » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Remote for Roku: TV Remote app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Remote servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Remote for Roku: TV Remote" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Remote app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Remote might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Remote. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Remote then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Remote not working


2. Fix Remote Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Remote be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Remote not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Remote may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
