1. 4/5 stars! Try it!After trying dozens of remote apps, including the official Philips version, & having ALL fail to work, I FINALLY found this one and it works!!! Our Philips screen has NO external buttons & our remote got broken.

2. All I had to do with THIS AP, is locate my screens model# in the aps settings, pair Bluetooth through the app, and now it works perfectly! THANK YOU DEVELOPERThe positive: This app works! However what would otherwise be an excellent app is thwarted by its ugly clunky interface and icon, and the inability to rename remotes other than their internal name.

An add is going to pop up and stop you from just muting the TV real quick but you just don't know when...BEWARE: Phones that lack an IR transmitter cannot work with this app (or any other phone app) without an IR transmitter attachment (if you're trying to control a typical TV with an IR receiver).

4. For example, the remote assigns the name samTv1, however it would be nice be able to edit those names so they wouldn't be as clunky looking as the interface itself is.

5. For my emerson tv the info button does not seem to work, on my tv remote the info button brings up a description of what is currently on.

6. Unfortunately the input button only sometimes works or isn't even present on the remote and no way I can tell to customize it.

7. The one downfall it has is whenever I'm trying to for example turn my tv up or on it'll take 4 attempts or more before it connects & begins to work.Very powerful and simple to use app, especially for connecting to Android streaming boxes through Wi-Fi.

1. Fix Universal Remote Control Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart Universal Remote Control: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the Universal Remote Control App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Universal Remote Control" » Open Universal Remote Control » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Universal Remote Control » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear Universal Remote Control app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Universal Remote Control servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Universal Remote Control" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check Universal Remote Control app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Universal Remote Control might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall Universal Remote Control. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Universal Remote Control then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Universal Remote Control not working

2. Fix Universal Remote Control Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Universal Remote Control be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Universal Remote Control not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Universal Remote Control may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
