1. 🤞I'm not charged!TERRIBLE! You guys managed to break a record! I've never seen any other app EVER have so many ad popups in less than 5 minutes! I didn't even get a chance to consider the free trial because an ad popped up LITERALLY every 20 seconds! I needed to change a setting on my fire stick before I could fully use an app to control my device.

2. It took me 5 mins to get to the settings menu! The most aggressive popups.All I wanted was a backup in case my standard remote stopped working.

3. I guess I'll just have to spend the 20 bucks for a real remote.Will not connect to my Toshiba Fire TV.

4. The app from Amazon is free; why pay for yours?NOT WORTH IT, as a perm solution, but ok in an emergency while waiting for a replacement remote to be delivered.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Remote Issues

1. Fix Remote Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Remote: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Remote App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Remote" » Open Remote for Fire TV & FireStick » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Remote » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Remote for Fire TV & FireStick app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Remote servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Remote for Fire TV & FireStick" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Remote app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Remote might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Remote. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Remote then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Remote not working


2. Fix Remote Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Remote be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Remote not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Remote may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
