1. The ads 🤦, irrelevant and no need for so many !I can deal with all the ads witch there is a tremendous amount but some one has to invest in the app ... but the update is now colors instead of symbols... can't even turn the volume up or down ... horrible update getting ready to delete and just buy a universal remote 0.5 starsOh honestly I love it I really do but way to many adds 14 clicks then a add.

2. The adds come in at the worst time possible this must be adjusted some how .. UI can be more colorful with voice feed for visually impaired Also this is not an actual remote that it has to be black to give it life from scratches.If I could rate it lower, I would.

3. If I'm missing a setting,I would like to possess this knowledge.Keeps disconnecting, connecting takes ages , TV is connected to same WiFi network and app can't find device, luckily it's only temporarily as my remote is on the way but still this app needs lots of improvements.

4. I can't scroll to find something to watch more than like 15 sec before a ad shows up & I'm not buying a AD free subscription when it's deliberately showing way too many ads in hopes to get you to purchase the ad free version.

5. Edit: no ok no I can't get any off the apps now and now it's 15 clicks and the adds are so long and now it's a 27.99 something for lifetime.

6. Picking out something to watch on Netflix? Prepare for an ad roughly every 15 taps.

7. Atrocious experienceThe app keeps needing to be reconnected to the TV, after not using for a minute.

8. Atrocious experience Edit for developer response: "could you give us the screenshots of ads that disturb you most" No, I uninstalled because your UX was so bad.

9. This is very annoying when needing to adjust volume or change channels.

10. Tried to type a 5 letter word and their was an 5 second video ad after every single letter.

11. Don't waste your time on this one.If I could rate it lower, I would.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Remote Issues

1. Fix Remote Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Remote: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Remote App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Remote" » Open Remote for LG ThinG TV & webOS » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Remote » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Remote for LG ThinG TV & webOS app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Remote servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Remote for LG ThinG TV & webOS" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Remote app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Remote might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Remote. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Remote then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Remote not working


2. Fix Remote Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Remote be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Remote not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Remote may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
