Amazon Shopping Customer Insights

1. I already have my lists numerically & categorically organized! This change is a nuisance (I know, 1st world problems.)The search bar being at the bottom has got to be the DUMBEST update you guys can do.

2. However, the latest update moves the search bar to the bottom of the screen which, while it sounds like a minor issue, makes the app extremely difficult to use as it defies all UI design conventions.

3. PLEASE PLACE THE SEARCH BAR BACK AT THE TOP OR AT LEAST ADD THE ABILITY TO TOGGLE.Absolute garbage, was never the best but now with the recent update where do I start? Search bar at the bottom, terrible UX design choice.

4. Please, return to the old app design.Not sure why Amazon decided to "fix" something that wasn't broken when they moved the search bar to the bottom.

5. Shopping is supposed to be fun or relaxing... not frustrating!Update 7/2023: Still the same issue, this time the search bar is at the bottom -- this has got to be the silliest and most unnecessary update yet.

It may be easier to just stick with ordering from someplace else that has a more stable and intuitive app navigation.I don't know why an update was needed to change how I view my lists, but if you could change it back so that when I click "Your Lists" I can view ALL of my lists rather than seeing the options "Grouped for you", "Your lists & registries", & "All saves".

7. Also, the search bar needs to be at the top! I understand it makes a thumbs only experience better but there is already wasted screen space at the top with notification bars, it makes sense to combine everything together.

8. The app is inundated with ad listings, searching for an item leads to every other item being a completely unrelated ad item that's vaguely related to the main search item.

9. 🙄 The search bar on the bottom sucks (I remember the hell unleashed on Brave when they first did that without making it optional).

10. If the bar does not get moved back, or if the customer doesn't get to choose where they want it, then I'm just going to cancel my Amazon Prime membership and delete the app.

11. Could've made it an option for us to do that.7/3/23: after no response on the new aggravating layout and the option to move search bar back to the top.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Amazon Shopping Issues

1. Fix Amazon Shopping Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Amazon Shopping: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Amazon Shopping App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Amazon Shopping" » Open Amazon Shopping » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Amazon Shopping » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Amazon Shopping app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Amazon Shopping servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Amazon Shopping" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Amazon Shopping app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Amazon Shopping might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Amazon Shopping. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Amazon Shopping then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Amazon Shopping not working


2. Fix Amazon Shopping Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Amazon Shopping be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Amazon Shopping not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Amazon Shopping may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
