1. The Transparency app allows you to scan enrolled products to verify their authenticity.
2. Some participating products may also display additional information such as videos, promotions, or the product’s manufacturing date or location.
1. Uninstalling and would not recommend.QR code scanner doesn't need the phone's location to function, overreaching of permissions and of larger issue as reported by others the app won't scan because it is too dark.
2. Maybe other bar codes will give more information, but honestly I've better things to waste my time on.Not sure what information it's supposed to show, the qr code worked, and it scanned but then it just showed a stock picture of the book bundle I have. This was downloaded without my knowledge, shady 3rd party app.
3. All it does is regurgitate the product name and tells you where it's produced but there's nothing else beyond that.Trash. Screen shows normal lighting for a split second, and then goes dark.
4. There's only a split second at start up when it's scanning, the rest of the time the ui is greying out the scanning part and giving you language options and a page with learn more about the app.
5. A sticker on a package doesn't prevent counterfeiting, it just makes it harder for the consumer to tell if it's a copy. It's a bit 'meh': I got the same info by scanning from within the Amazon app.
6. From that page you can also switch back to scanning by camera icon, for a split second.
7. I opened it and spent too long trying to get it to scan the QR code for my product.
8. I allowed the permissions it requested and the stupid app just sits there and looks at the super clear code.
9. I had to have the camera app open, center the qr code, have it in focus, then quickly open the transparency app.
10. Not only does it confirm the legitimacy of the product it also has offers and promotions to choose from, on my next purchase.
11. That said the info shown after scanning was just what Amazon listed already. This is the greatest app ever.
