Philips Air+ Customer Insights

1. Contacted support, which wasn't helpful ... gave directions that didn't apply and didn't work either ...The app says my air purifier needs two firmware updates and links to instructions on how to trigger them manually.

2. My second point still remains valid, with the addition that sometimes I cannot change settings even if there is a connection.The idea is nice, but it loses connection all the time and the app is full of bugs, such as showing NULL values for the ambient allergy scores.

3. Also, the local connection gets lost when my phone goes to sleep and I have to go back to the main screen and select the device again.

4. I follow all the steps correctly, the WiFi light on the Phillips device, my router is on and my phone is connected to WiFi.

5. I think it is very sloppyCould be very helpful, especially for remotely controlling your device, but I haven't found a built-in possibility to connect to the app from the internet.

6. Interface outdated, and with lack of explanations and nonsense data (e.g. how can Auto+ mode show that it was "activated X times in last 24 hours" when the purifier was simply switched off) .

7. In the support i can only open FAQ.After this new update the app keeps losing the device.. it is currently showing that I have no device, even though it has been set up for over a year.

8. How can such a trash product even pass any quality testing? I'm returning it.I purchased a $600 app purifier and this is the app that I get with it.

10. A lot needs to be improved here especially considering the purifier cost almost 500€ Android 13 / Product: 4000iWorks, but keeps disconnecting from the purifier.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Philips Air+ Issues

1. Fix Philips Air+ Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Philips Air+: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Philips Air+ App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Philips Air+" » Open Philips Air+ » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Philips Air+ » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Philips Air+ app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Philips Air+ servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Philips Air+" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Philips Air+ app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Philips Air+ might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Philips Air+. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Philips Air+ then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Philips Air+ not working


2. Fix Philips Air+ Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Philips Air+ be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Philips Air+ not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Philips Air+ may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
