WAVE Customer Insights

1. After every update there seems to be major bugs and it will go a couple weeks or better before they get fixedIts neat when you need it but this app runs continuously even you aren't using it, draining your battery, i wish there was a mode that completely turns it off when not in use but you only have a muting optionApp now uses the in call volume...it disables me from utilizing any other app that uses media or Bluetooth listening devicesIt doesn't work.

2. It also bumps you out of any app you are using when a call comes through.Not useful anymore, the new update uses the audio like a phone call and disables the app from connecting to my Bluetooth in vehicle.

3. The phone audio channel is permanently activated so other audio/notifications don't work properly.Trash!! This app was a lot better before the update.

4. And it uses phone audio and not media.

5. This affects Bluetooth audio as well as turning your notifications into just beeps instead of the proper notification tones.

6. It also disables any other media on the phone.

7. You are constantly hearing folks in other channels talking killing your battery life.

8. However now the phone audio channel is constantly active.

9. Also can't close out of it without force closing every single time.Worked great then it updated again and all it does is flash back and forth on my screen.

10. As it works with data it can be used in areas where radio does not have coverage...even from Fiji...😁Absolutely useless.

11. I was hoping that today's update (1/2021) was going to fix this but it didn't.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix WAVE Issues

1. Fix WAVE Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart WAVE: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the WAVE App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "WAVE" » Open WAVE Mobile Communicator » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for WAVE » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear WAVE Mobile Communicator app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from WAVE servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "WAVE Mobile Communicator" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check WAVE app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, WAVE might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall WAVE. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall WAVE then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing WAVE not working


2. Fix WAVE Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make WAVE be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to WAVE not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, WAVE may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
