1. They switched their subscription plan right after I uploaded all of my passwords so I was forced to either pay more or go to a different password manager (I ended up switching to the free version), their auto-fill never worked, and now that I had to switch phones due to a warranty issue and forgot my master password, I lost all my passwords because their account recovery process is abysmal and they REFUSE to provide support for free accounts.

2. But there's a host of other bugs - fill prompt refusing to fill, refusing to show, failing to match sites, prompting on non-pw fields, trying to fill a pw and having an infinite loops where it refuses to remember you just authed...Having a Lastpass app on my phone seems like such a good idea.

3. No longer in the pulldown menu, always have to go find the app, open it, log on, search for the site I'm logging into, copy password, navigate back to the app/website and paste the password.Unintuitive, poor interface - even ignoring their recent security woes where a dev had the vault stolen from a home system he was using, their interface is also often difficult to use.

4. So I have to find the password manually.Never had a problem with autofill on my iPhone but ever since I switched to a Samsung phone a year ago, the app rarely works.

5. So now I'm stuck between either having a useless app or manually retyping all of my passwords elsewhere!LastPass used to be great.

6. My only complaint is that sometimes it doesn't pops on sites/ apps to autofill, when I am creating a new password.

7. I literally had to pull to refresh a secure note after accepting a share? If you need to refresh after accepting a share, how is that not done automatically? Otherwise it just seems to disappear.Absolutely horrible experience with lastpass.

8. I am simply flipping over to the app, logging in, finding the password I manually saved beforehand, copying it, and pasting it myself every time.

9. The most annoying bug is it claiming my biometrics have changed (they haven't) and forcing me to type my password again.

10. Not mention the data leak problems in the last year....Edit: 3 years later, now it's 2023 and the app is still not working well on Android.

11. Frequently have to bounce between lastpass and whatever app I am trying to log into as autofill won't work.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix LastPass Password Manager Issues

1. Fix LastPass Password Manager Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart LastPass Password Manager: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the LastPass Password Manager App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "LastPass Password Manager" » Open LastPass Password Manager » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for LastPass Password Manager » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear LastPass Password Manager app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from LastPass Password Manager servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "LastPass Password Manager" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check LastPass Password Manager app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, LastPass Password Manager might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall LastPass Password Manager. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall LastPass Password Manager then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing LastPass Password Manager not working


2. Fix LastPass Password Manager Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make LastPass Password Manager be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to LastPass Password Manager not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, LastPass Password Manager may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • Hi, I'm trying to cancel my lastpass subscription I did not receive a reminder that my account was due for renewal. My intention was to cancel this subscription at the end of the first year. I would therefore like to cancel and receive a reimbursement for the money that has been charged to my account.
    The reason I want to cancel is because I can't even retrieve my pass or access the vault. I would like to cancel the subscription and get my money back. The message I get back is that the vault is not installed on my computer, yet when I first subscribed that was created. I have tried using the contact support link on your website. A dialog box pops up to fill up a form for call back, but it doesn't allow me to enter my phone number because my country is not one of those that can be called back. I then selected the email option on that form and filled in the required information and sent it off and there is no email acknowledgement back from your team. I'm no longer interested in the service, I just want my money back and a way to cancel this account.
