1. Beyond MST is a free, secure, trauma-sensitive mobile app that was created specifically to support the health and well-being of survivors of sexual assault or harassment during military service, also called military sexual trauma (MST).
2. The app has over 30 specialized tools and other features to help those who use it cope with challenges, manage symptoms, improve their quality of life and find hope.
3. You can use the app on your own or as a companion to formal treatment, and it may be helpful to survivors of other types of unwanted sexual experiences, too.
4. Users can also take brief assessments in the app, set self-care goals, track recovery progress, and learn more about MST and common concerns.
5. The app keeps your information private; no account is needed, and any personal information entered in the app is not shared with anyone, including the VA.
6. You can set a PIN lock for extra privacy.
7. You are not alone: the Beyond MST app can help.
8. Beyond MST was made by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Mobile Mental Health team at the National Center for PTSD, Dissemination and Training Division in collaboration with the National Center for PTSD, Women’s Health Sciences Division and the national VA MST Support Team.
1. Great job people! Thank you!Not a fan of app directed tools for mental health needs.. gave it try for functionality.. reading words on a phone screen isn't enticing for me when it comes to addressing or providing resources for mental health.. it takes away the human element of helping others and addressing client care needs...I could not listen to a strange woman's voice and relax.
2. Gave some great tools to use.Yold to try the app... Need a code to do so, and cannot get a response from support as to how one GETS a code.Good app to express emotion to make you aware of you.Va does excellent apps.
3. It is just a tool.Productive in helping me to overcome emotions with therapy.I was sexually assaulted at gun point on Fort Sill, Ok in 1990 but never received any treatment or disability.
4. It was a trigger.Just learning but Have high hopes for potential relief and putting this affair back where i don't relive it dailyHas helped me through some tough moments.
5. Check out the others that are good for civilians and vets! Ignore neg reviews.
6. Most of the neg reviews i see are people using veteran specific app, and also counting on app to be end all.
7. This app brings a level of peace I wish I had many years ago.
8. The VA has denied 12 mst claims making up new rules that should not apply to MST per the order description.
9. 5 years of terror started 57 years ago.
10. Ashamed, defeated, alone it affected every aspect of my life.
11. I am sure it is because of the racial bias that is persistent in the military now and then.
