ESS 42 Customer Insights

1. *Update - 12/02/21* Since the last update the app seems to run a lot betterThis app was working fine until I had to re-install it and now it won't load off the qr code - keeps telling me there is a server error and to try again in 30 secondsEvery two weeks the app breaks and the only way you can get it to work is uninstall and reinstall.

2. It would be nice if you could add some widget options for people's home screen so they could see their time table and the time table of everyone whose working that day and what shift they are doing that day.I am unable to even use the app as it says "Error processing your request!! Please close the window and try again.

3. If problem persists, contact your help desk or system administrator" apparently this is an issue for Android users, fix your app as I am not even able to sign into workFrustrating that it doesn't have fingerprint recognition.

4. The slow loading times are also an issue and I'm not sure why so many permissions are needed really, feel like my employer is spying on me! Also the app isn't scalable, it doesn't fit correctly on my devices screen so I can't see everything clearly.

5. I have tried to report the issue but not sure if the report goes through.Currently trying to use for work clock ins etc and the app wont even open on my phone, or tablet.

6. Every day I receive an error message, I have to uninstall, reinstall and repeat every time I use the app.

7. The screen just goes white with the settings symbol in the bottom right corner, but when pressed also does nothing.

8. After being your session has expired, you may get get stuck with the message "please wait" this can be infinite, there is no point waiting, manually close the app.

9. Which in the current climate isn't idealIt doesn't allow login or way to change password to log in.

10. Depending on your access to the QR code used to set the app up, you may not get back.I have had no issues with Reflexis until the last week.

11. Currently, almost the whole work team have to use a shared device at our workplace.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix ESS 42 Issues

1. Fix ESS 42 Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart ESS 42: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the ESS 42 App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "ESS 42" » Open ESS 42 - Reflexis One » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for ESS 42 » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear ESS 42 - Reflexis One app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from ESS 42 servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "ESS 42 - Reflexis One" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check ESS 42 app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, ESS 42 might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall ESS 42. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall ESS 42 then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing ESS 42 not working


2. Fix ESS 42 Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make ESS 42 be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to ESS 42 not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, ESS 42 may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
