Dexcom Follow Customer Insights

1. I love the idea of the app & being able to watch my teens b/g while away from me but having to turn optimization off is literally ruining my phone.

2. Changing email addresses, changing up, uninstalling, reinstalling, clicking link, not clicking link, checking if my phone is updated.

3. There are times when the app will literally disappear from my phone's notification bar and then suddenly show back up with a notification like it does when I first turn my phone on.

4. Once I got a different phone, however, now it doesn't keep me updated.

5. Crash, crash, crash, this seems to be all this app does.....oh wait, I'm wrong, it also doesn't allow me to set a sharer photo.

6. Please make the follow app work right for newer phones too! This is a serious issue.EDIT: I turned my battery to unrestricted in the app and problem solved.

7. I have to manually go to the apps icon and start the app up to get the display to work again and then it doesn't last long.

8. It's supposed to make life easier but it doesn't when I have to worry whether or not I'm actually getting readings in the middle of the night.App will not open.

9. Way too unreliable to be of any use for keeping my mother alive.It worked really at first! I live pretty far from my mom who has type 1 diabetes so I like to be aware if anything happens with her blood sugar.

10. I can't get sound notifications unless my phone volume is on.

11. I'd like to know what happened to make it start doing this out of the blue & how to correct it ASAP!Edited to add: if you have the problem I was having it is the transmitter.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Dexcom Follow Issues

1. Fix Dexcom Follow Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Dexcom Follow: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Dexcom Follow App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Dexcom Follow" » Open Dexcom Follow » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Dexcom Follow » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Dexcom Follow app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Dexcom Follow servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Dexcom Follow" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Dexcom Follow app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Dexcom Follow might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Dexcom Follow. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Dexcom Follow then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Dexcom Follow not working


2. Fix Dexcom Follow Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Dexcom Follow be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Dexcom Follow not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Dexcom Follow may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
