1. Other Android app "CUPS Printing" by UpActivity prints fine without this "gray offline printer" problem. Thanks for making printing from CUPS as easy as it should be :) Although - if i resize (eg: 2pages/sheet, etc) it seems to default to "letter" despite having set default to A4 in the settings.Sharing works, printing just spools without success (RAW to a LAN PS printer).
2. Good luck.Just an app I always wanted! A mobile app that can print to CUPS printer server, I do like to suggest so you can actually see the file you are about to print, like if I want to print an image actually show the image you know and maybe a bit better UI design, thanks for the app! With Fedora Linux CUPS server it works only sometimes, one has to typically turn off+on the printer, otherwise the printer remains gray (like offline?) and one cannot print to it.
3. Finally! An open-source, ad-free, free, and actually useful printer app! I have installed and tried over a dozen printer apps - while not having the prettiest UI, Let's Print Droid is by far the best!Works brilliantly in a business environment where the printers are generally capable (ie understand PCL or Postscript).
4. This functionality should frankly be built in to Android, but then it would take up three times the storage so who's complaining? Thank you kindly!I can manually add printer no problem and it prints the QR code fine.
5. I can try and add a printer via framework using "Lets Print Droid" but it just runs the autoscan which fails to find.
6. Anyway to add a correctly configured manual printer to the Android system for printing off chrome? (as example)Best Android app for auto-finding, connecting, and printing to your wireless printer.
7. Page size and color needs changing with every print job.Looks great but doesn't allow entering an IPv6 address, though it seems to correctly use IPv6 using DNS.
8. Despite other Linux machine can print to the Linux CUPS server fine.
9. But when I tried to print a .jpg image from the internal storage of my phone it failed and I got a socket exception "connection reset".
10. In these cases you need to connect through an intermediate PC that has the proprietary printer drivers installed and performs the rendering.
11. May be not.I knew nothing about configuring my printer, but I knew it supported PS, and its IP address.
