About Guard Viewer

1. The whole point of accessing security cameras from a phone app is to be able to view them when you are away from your home! Again it connects to my device when I am at home which is not the point of the app!I have to give a one star because we are unable to view our cameras using our mobile data.

2. Thank you for keeping the app updated.Recently started getting issues with playback sating device not online, but NVR is online and Live view works fine.

3. When I exit the app I would have to delete it and re-download it again for it to work.notifications do not come through except for saying the NVR has a notification, I have 32 cameras so it tells me one of the 32 has a notification... Worked a lot better when using the RX cam view like we used to use.

4. Mobile app, nope.Well it worked great for a couple of days, then for some reason I kept getting an error code 153 and cannot connect from my phone network.

5. Also doesn't always show color.The app was running fine on my chromebook for months.. Now the app wont even open up and if it does its running slow and choppy.. The only way I can get the app to work is by deleting the app and reinstalling it.

6. Updated app, updated NVR firmware, wifi or cell, internal or external, hangs...even upgraded my speed to 400\20...hangs and never loads.

7. The live view screen in portrait mode is way too small now after latest update.

8. No synchronous playback, loses your favorites, having to set up an account for P2P is pretty ridiculous as well, I went with this system because I don't want to go through a 3rd party to get my videos.Wish I could post a pic.

9. This app crashes all the time, and it doesn't connect to all of my cameras.

10. Acouple other people who have access to the same cameras have no problem but it's for iPhone.

11. Using on Phone: Samsung Fold 4Fix - changed default protocol 3 to protocol 2...working now.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Guard Viewer Issues

1. Fix Guard Viewer Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Guard Viewer: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Guard Viewer App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Guard Viewer" » Open Guard Viewer » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Guard Viewer » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Guard Viewer app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Guard Viewer servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Guard Viewer" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Guard Viewer app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Guard Viewer might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Guard Viewer. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Guard Viewer then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Guard Viewer not working


2. Fix Guard Viewer Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Guard Viewer be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Guard Viewer not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Guard Viewer may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • Guard viewer app notifications suddenly stopped working on iPhone. Have checked all notifications / settings on app and iPhone and all are set up to allow notifications. Have turned iPhone off and on, have deleted app and downloaded it once more, have updated the app and still not showing notifications on phone. Checked phone isn’t on do not disturb. Everything else is working on the app but notifications.

  • I am relatively new to the system. I have an issue with forgotten password for my account. I am following the steps to have verification code sent to my email address of scottmorland@redacted - I am not receiving any codes at all looking at my inbox and also my Spam folders .. I cannot then reset my password and ultimately access my app to manage my cameras ? Location is Auckland, New Zealand and its not supported for phone text message. I am stuck - Please help

  • Installed Guard Viewer on my Samsung phone. When I view live images, the feed freezes after approximately 10 seconds. It records 24/7 on the NVR, but I need it to be continuous/non-freezing on my phone as I need to monitor a camera while at work....I don't want to view a frozen screenshot.

  • I can’t get my new iPhone to connect to my NVR using my Guard Viewer app. I’ve tried using the add a new device feature. I’ve scanned the QR code and it identified the register code but when I to connected automatically or manually, I get a message saying “ Please enter a valid register code.   • I’m not able to see my cameras on my phone. It says it’s offline. But my DVR says online. If I reset my DVR I can get access on my phone, but after about 30 minutes it does not work.

    i have CCTV i need to monitor through App , i was using AEye app , it is not working & it keeps breaking all time time. Now my device is NGLSPN-551386-EBHSP & server is Server erp.sgp.zwcloud.wang as per my current Aeye app.
    I tried using your Guard Viewer app but it can detect my device , it keep on asking for Register Code, it can't detect, it can't do Auto Search Lan.

  • I am unable to get in the system to change the password and the old password doesn't work either.
    I am constantly having issues with the cameras going offline also. I have tried to unplug the power and the internet but it is still not bringing the cameras back online.
    Please contact me concerning this matter. I would call but I haven't been able to fine a customer service phone number.
    This is a business and we have had a lot of thefts in the past and I would hate to have to have another system installed because I really do like this system when it properly works!

  • The app won't work on the mobile data/cellular network. It needs to connect to wifi to work. When opening the app it shows using the cellular network may incur extra charges but the app still won't work. It keeps the screens loading. Hope you fix it soon.

  • I have noticed recently that the cameras in my house have not been recording past footage. They are the GW-148EP type MBR and I have four.
