Customer Insights

1. My damn google wifi is outside sitting beside me as I try to set this up and still says incorrect password!This app does not work for generac guardian 22kw evolution 2.0. The instructions differ from the actual keypad options.

2. I never see the mobile link network when standing next to the generator and when I try to connect to my router the app keeps saying my password is incorrect.

3. Then I found that during the setup progress I had to manually reconnect to the generator WiFi as it was switching to 'setting up generator'.

4. Once you've done that, then use the "orange" app to set up the monitoring account.Setup app is trash! Ever since they updates something, my generator can no longer connect to my wifi.

5. However, first and foremost, you've gotta have your WiFi router practically sitting on your generator for it to have enough signal to connect.

6. My advice to others with this situation is to proceed with the Mobile Link app.Once the bugs are sorted out I'll give this 5 stars all day long but every single time I go to set up a customers generator it's a confusing and glitchy process.

7. Says incorrect password every single time! Trouble shoot says the signal may not be good enough.

8. It is totally useless.Worthless! No matter what you do it says password incorrect! Tried every combination of wireless settings and I am certain I have the right password.

9. Update: I found that the generator was connected to the Internet even though this app always said "Incorrect Password".

10. It seems to Work better with the Android.This is the setup app for the Generac WiFi module.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Issues

1. Fix Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart : Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "" » Open Mobile Link Setup » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Mobile Link Setup app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Mobile Link Setup" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall . If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing not working


2. Fix Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
