ColourSmart Customer Insights

1. Bass - tried to import a photo (either by taking one from within the app or importing from gallery) and nothing - a blank screen with the message to "tap the photo" but it doesn't allow you to do anything.I've this for years and loved it, now all of sudden I open it and it crashes every time.

2. When working with a photo of our room and tapping the photo to select new colours, the only available colour options were those appearing in the photo, translated into specific colour shades by Behr.

3. As in, it doesn't even get to the matching part, the app just stops working when you try to use existing pictures or take a new picture of a color.Useless. Doesn't work at all.

4. Color match doesn't launch the camera, and doesn't select color from saved photos.

5. Could not find any other options in the menu..My main problem with this app is that they do not coordinate the colour matching feature with the paint sample cards.

6. The color browser doesn't match (at all) what is in the store in terms of order and layout.

7. There is no means to adjust the color display for accuracy, and that means color on screen is not even close to the color on the paint chip of same name.

8. None of the color match options work.

9. Save yourself time, money and aggravation by going in person and looking at paint swatches.

10. But this app lets me pick Colours that take up my entire phone, so I can put it up to my wall and see what colour i like.

11. I tried the apps that let u take a pic but, they were too glitchy and the paint sample too small.Absolute garbage of an app.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix ColourSmart Issues

1. Fix ColourSmart Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart ColourSmart: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the ColourSmart App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "ColourSmart" » Open ColourSmart by BEHR™ Mobile » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for ColourSmart » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear ColourSmart by BEHR™ Mobile app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from ColourSmart servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "ColourSmart by BEHR™ Mobile" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check ColourSmart app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, ColourSmart might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall ColourSmart. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall ColourSmart then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing ColourSmart not working


2. Fix ColourSmart Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make ColourSmart be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to ColourSmart not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, ColourSmart may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
