eWeLink Customer Insights

1. I recently updated the app, I updated my wifi network and tried to reconfigure some devices, it took hours to go through the pairing steps again and again and again for each device.

2. My solution was to dig out an older phone from the discard box that knew only 2.4. With the antique phone, the app was able to link to my smart devices.the previous version was great.

3. It ruins the whole idea of smart controls, if I have to manually control them.This application has great potential, if it can manage to bridge together a majority of the smart devices.

4. The worst part of having a smart home is that there is no single app which can control the many different devices.

5. Hopefully I can add the device to another app that works.You can no longer change the wifi settings on your devices since they changed the app.

6. I've now purchased different devices that don't use this app and they all work perfectly.Maybe the worst UI of the decade.

7. I would like to see the addition of Amcrest Cameras and Magic Home devices.It used to be annoying to change the temp because you had to change the upper and lower threshold separately.

8. Then they tried to tell me that all 4 of the devices I had must have gone bad all at the same time.

9. this newest version has intermittant glitches that hide buttons (4 gang switch) on the home screen (right side) but the most problematic issue is that intermittently I have no way to get to settings for any of my 7 units.

10. Keeps saying unable to find device no matter how close I put the device, phone and router together.

11. I tried working with their support team for over a month and they keep giving me the same trouble shooting steps that are on the website.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix eWeLink Issues

1. Fix eWeLink Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart eWeLink: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the eWeLink App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "eWeLink" » Open eWeLink - Smart Home » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for eWeLink » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear eWeLink - Smart Home app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from eWeLink servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "eWeLink - Smart Home" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check eWeLink app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, eWeLink might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall eWeLink. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall eWeLink then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing eWeLink not working


2. Fix eWeLink Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make eWeLink be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to eWeLink not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, eWeLink may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • I want to delete my eWeLink account. I have registered my account with kingshaft80@redacted , and yet I am not allowed to delete my account when using the in app account deletion. Under the GDPR the penalty for non-compliance is a $7,500 fine under CCPA and 4% of annual turnover under GDPR.
