HondaLink Customer Insights

1. It's been bad for a long time, they're not making it better...Junkware - rarely, if that, syncs with the auto, crashes which requires FC and/or crashes my phones (yes, both Android and iOS versions are both terrible), and doesn't seem to work well with scheduling appointments for service.

2. Seems to me look Honda should focus on improving their app before finding other ways to charge people.I absolutely love being able to start my car from inside the building where I work.

3. I just wish there was a way to use defrost and warm up the car at the same time Had to edit my score Since paying for the subscription, I can't unlock/lock my car or use the remote start feature.

4. All the options to remote start the vehicle, lock, unlock, etc finally showed up the next morning.

5. But what's the point of having an app if the remote start is more effective?There's very little that I can access on this app because I haven't subscribed to anything, I guess? I can't "find my car" there's hardly any icons.

6. I only keep it fort that rare chance it will work and be useful.Meh, remote commands work, nothing else.

7. It takes about 10-15 seconds to show the remote commands page and 10-30 seconds to run them.

8. The oddity is that the rest of Bluetooth features work fine with the exception of the Honda Link.

9. It will "forget" the remote start status and not tell me how long the car has been on.

10. When it does work it's an absolute life changer.

11. More often than not the app fails to start the vehicle.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix HondaLink Issues

1. Fix HondaLink Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart HondaLink: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the HondaLink App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "HondaLink" » Open HondaLink » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for HondaLink » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear HondaLink app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from HondaLink servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "HondaLink" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check HondaLink app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, HondaLink might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall HondaLink. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall HondaLink then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing HondaLink not working


2. Fix HondaLink Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make HondaLink be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to HondaLink not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, HondaLink may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
