Expensify Customer Insights

1. Expensify is easier to use and streamlines receipt upload compared to Concur.Does a great job of capturing the receipt and creating a report - so it gets a couple stars.

2. " If you want to spend time after you create your expense report putting the report in the same order as your receipt images, then this is the software for you.

3. I'd like to see some more improvements.This app is decent but unfortunately lacks basic functionality such as the ability to filter receipts based on date, merchant, or category and the ability to search for a receipt based on different parameters.

4. Also, some pages are too big to fit in the screen and you have to scroll down to see status text (with no indication that this text exists) such as connecting your bank account.2nd Update: Fixed the basic issue and are working on correcting how mileage is recording.

5. Support team sometimes slow to respond (and sometimes I feel like I'm chatting with a clueless bot) but they do follow up and incorporate feedback and suggestions.Expensify is one of the most frustrating pieces of software I interact with on a regular basis.

9. So far, after a month of use, I have only had one receipt scan the amount incorrectly.

10. But even when I could, I had to fix their data and submit by logging into the website since the app couldn't update or submit.still some troubles with selecting Category, as the names are long and I can't see the most significant part of the names as they are clipped off.

11. At first, I had a little trouble getting the receipt scan to work right.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Expensify Issues

1. Fix Expensify Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Expensify: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Expensify App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Expensify" » Open Expensify - Travel & Expense » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Expensify » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Expensify - Travel & Expense app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Expensify servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Expensify - Travel & Expense" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Expensify app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Expensify might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Expensify. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Expensify then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Expensify not working


2. Fix Expensify Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Expensify be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Expensify not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Expensify may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
