WIDAR Customer Insights

1. The fact that you can rotate seamlessly AND SCULPT the object in-app is awesome! I took sloppy photos that weren't even angled right, and the results were still way better than i thought possible! I was able to export fine; to ppl who cant: maybe try going to the item menu instead of scene menu to do it there.Most accurate free 3d scanner currently.

2. Time waster.Forced to sign up with email, then only once I scanned what I needed I found out you cannot export scans without paying money.

3. Can anyone help? If I can't do anything with the scans, then the app is useless, really... Thanks in advance MxxThis App is absolutely amazing! I was very skeptical after seeing how easy the video makes it look, but it truly lives up to all the hype! The 3d image produced is highly detailed.

4. Disappointed ๐Ÿ˜žSite stated free, went through the process of installing only to find out the model is useless and not accessible unless you buy a subscription.

5. Not willing to put any money into it until I can download a few objects to see how it really does.This is an amazing app! Problem is that you can't download, even a basic stl file, without paying for pro.

6. I was hoping to be able to export a few scans, but am forced to upgrade to the pro version to do it.

7. Scanned a couple of objects, first around 3"x3"x1.5"; the second one 2"ร—3"ร—1"; neither could be processed, but the photos were very clear.

8. First time everything was fine, next I do the camera job than tap on done and a former 3D model shows.

9. But I'm totally at a loss to know how to transfer the scans from my phone to my PC so that I can edit them further and 3D print them.

10. Dropping from a five star to a three star.I would not pay for an app that does not work properly.

11. The only options I can see for "exporting" both just lead me to an online, browser-based viewer, but with no way to download them.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix WIDAR Issues

1. Fix WIDAR Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart WIDAR: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the WIDAR App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "WIDAR" » Open WIDAR - 3D Scan & Edit » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for WIDAR » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear WIDAR - 3D Scan & Edit app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from WIDAR servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "WIDAR - 3D Scan & Edit" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check WIDAR app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, WIDAR might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall WIDAR. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall WIDAR then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing WIDAR not working


2. Fix WIDAR Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make WIDAR be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to WIDAR not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, WIDAR may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
