T- Customer Insights

1. Looks to be anywhere which is within about a 3 to 4 mile radius of the cell tower--Useless.We were able to find my husband's lost phone using this app! The people at the restaurant where it got left insisted that no phone had been found, but we showed them that over the period of 2 hours, each time we tried locating the phone while looking for it, it showed it at that address.

2. Other than all this, one can get accurate location otherwise.This is one of the worst (ever) applications - unreliable, imprecise, annoying, requiring restarting the phone every time you want to use it.

3. Then for the other phone lines I did add, half the time it can't locate them at all, and when it does, it can't pinpoint exact location.

4. where Google's find my phone will pinpoint a location to within a few feet, this app never locates closer than a tenth of a mile, usually a quarter mile or more radius.

5. It should be a low cost or free perk for people with family plans of say, 3 or more lines or free for those of us with over 8 plus years of being loyal to the T-Mobile family.Even with enabling location improvement settings, the app itself is wildly inaccurate.

6. If the phone is inside a building, or in a downtown area with lots of buildings, the location is NOT very accurate.

7. This makes no sense that the one phone I want to add to this service is the one phone that does not show up at all.

8. Glad the phone didn't have to already have the app on it like with some other phone locator apps.App stopped working.

9. Also with trying to create a landmark it says the address does not exist, which is weird since I can literally find the exact spot on the satellite map.

10. My teenage daughter's phone doesn't even show up in the list of numbers I can add.

11. The app keeps telling me incorrect address and is giving me out of state location.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix T- Issues

1. Fix T- Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart T-: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the T- App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "T-" » Open T-Mobile FamilyWhere » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for T- » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear T-Mobile FamilyWhere app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from T- servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "T-Mobile FamilyWhere" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check T- app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, T- might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall T-. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall T- then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing T- not working


2. Fix T- Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make T- be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to T- not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, T- may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
