Home + Security Customer Insights

1. Customer service is great also.Fine except for the occasional disconnects (more later) but the separation of the Netatmo apps from one into separate apps for each type of device is a backward step for me.

2. Other than that, I'm satisfied with my Welcome.Great app, which sends instant alerts from my Presence camera to my phone wherever I am in the world.

3. Still screwing it up....Getting fed up with constant notifications about the same people walking past the camera.

4. Dunno but very annoying on the once every few months that it doesn't reconnect itself.It worked well for 3 months then it was not possible to play recordings or live.

5. Rating still 1 star as the latest update means no initial snapshot in live view and you actually have to play live view,m to see anything.

6. Simply useless …UPDATE - still broken, the person who replied does not know what they are talking about! Have you actually used the app? I am getting sick of features constantly getting broken with updates.

7. The auto uploading of clips to Dropbox is free & again works great.

8. My only gripe is that the software side of things isn't very well developed, so for example can you set it up so that it integrates with Smart Life, or other home automation options? Eg.

9. I tried to group them, but with constant reminders I get dozens of two to four notifications grouped.

10. There is also no way to not record family or when family is at home.Good solution to automatically unarmed the alarm with know faces.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Home + Security Issues

1. Fix Home + Security Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Home + Security: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Home + Security App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Home + Security" » Open Home + Security » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Home + Security » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Home + Security app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Home + Security servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Home + Security" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Home + Security app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Home + Security might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Home + Security. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Home + Security then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Home + Security not working


2. Fix Home + Security Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Home + Security be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Home + Security not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Home + Security may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
