Empower RetireSmart Customer Insights

1. Click the ok button and I am brought to the Play Store where no option exists to update.Ever since whatever login changes were made about a month or two ago (which pretty much broke logging in) this app has been hot garbage.

2. Most annoying thing and God forbid you touch another part of the screen or you have to start ALL OVER! Maybe direct input or even drop down options for entry would be a better idea.The app worked fine when originally installed, since the app updated, it has locked up and is absolutely worthless.

3. I've waited to write this review thinking that they might fix it, but they hasn't happened yet.Unless the update changed things, it can't: change funds or deposit distribution or research fund historical data.

4. After that if I want to log in a second time I have to completely uninstall the app reinstall it to be able to login.

5. Everytime I try to log into second time it tells me something went wrong, but it always works the very first time.

6. I have tried this with a Galaxy s9 and the OnePlus 6t phones.App is wonkey and almost always crashes the first time it is tapped.

7. When I open the app, a message comes up saying that there is an update, but Google Play says the app is "no longer compatible" with my device.

8. Even before that this is the only app where I've had numerous issues with fingerprint login failing, which leads to being completely logged out of the app.

9. Says password is wrong every time and I have to keep changing it.

10. Going back to my desktop for access to my $$$.Have to recredential every time there is an app update.

11. NopeEvery time I want to connect I can only do it once and that's after I install the app for the first time.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Empower RetireSmart Issues

1. Fix Empower RetireSmart Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Empower RetireSmart: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Empower RetireSmart App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Empower RetireSmart" » Open Empower RetireSmart » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Empower RetireSmart » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Empower RetireSmart app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Empower RetireSmart servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Empower RetireSmart" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Empower RetireSmart app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Empower RetireSmart might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Empower RetireSmart. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Empower RetireSmart then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Empower RetireSmart not working


2. Fix Empower RetireSmart Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Empower RetireSmart be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Empower RetireSmart not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Empower RetireSmart may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
