WATERROWER Connect Customer Insights

1. I did not want to give it 1 star as I understand its a work in progress, but PLEASE crank out a few key missing large gaps to being the app to a higher degree of integration.Works great with my Android phone and the com module and chromecast on my TV.. Love that I can save interval sessions, but you need to add the ability to save the screen configurations of the data appearing on the phone.

2. Integration into Strava was quite easy, it just sent all bad data since the water rower connect app froze.Shows the time of beginning work out 5hours ahead.

3. If you do that,five stars.Terribly unstable and completely unusable at this point with version 2.6.14. Normally it takes 2-3 forced closes for the app on my Pixel 6 to connect to the WaterRower even though it discovers it.

4. It must be behind the pay wall, but I'm not going to pay money for a setting that should be both stable and basicThe com module was difficult to connect to in the app, and the activity info froze just a couple minutes into a 5k row.

5. I will update my review when it gets fixed.The app is easy to use and looks like exactly what id want, but it is functionally unusable because of the transmission lag between the S4 and my Note 10+.

6. Rower and HR monitor connect seamlessly now... When I 1st downloaded the iOS version was the only one I could get to function properly.

7. The rower has my 5 star rating but the app needs a lot of work sadly.I've never had a problem connecting with my community unit.

8. The app will not pull HR data from my Galaxy watch4 which is inexcusable given that my phone has the data.

9. Strava integration is nice but kinda annoying that it uploads every distance separately.

10. Data is inaccurate and lags the real time s4 stats by roughly 20 seconds, if it updates at all.

11. Besides that it's nice.The app needs a bunch of work.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix WATERROWER Connect Issues

1. Fix WATERROWER Connect Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart WATERROWER Connect: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the WATERROWER Connect App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "WATERROWER Connect" » Open WATERROWER Connect » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for WATERROWER Connect » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear WATERROWER Connect app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from WATERROWER Connect servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "WATERROWER Connect" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check WATERROWER Connect app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, WATERROWER Connect might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall WATERROWER Connect. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall WATERROWER Connect then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing WATERROWER Connect not working


2. Fix WATERROWER Connect Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make WATERROWER Connect be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to WATERROWER Connect not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, WATERROWER Connect may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • I am having some problems with the Water Rower App and wondered if you could solve:

    With my training program we work on /500m intensity intervals. So this information is important.

    The App does not display /500m intensity when training in progress ( it does give an average in history ) - so I need to rely on the S4 display for this. Please confirm that’s correct ? It’s not ideal looking at 2 screens, but if this is what I need to do, then OK

    However when the App is connected with the S4 and module, the /500m reading seem to freeze and stays on the same number regardless of effort. Obviously this then means it’s useless as can’t see my true effort.

    I have tried using SMART ROW (SR) App instead as this seems to display the /500m information during exercise - however the App won’t connect with the Water Rower S4 module ( it says ‘Pull once to activate the Smart Row’) but never connects. I have made sure that I have disconnected the Water Rower App before trying to connect this App, but it never connects.

    Would appreciate your help. Please let me know what you suggest.
