QuickBooks Desktop Customer Insights

1. Spent the entire day yesterday on phone with Intuit and the problem isn't with my desktop program, it seems to be a communication problem between the app and the cloud it uploads to.It's OK, App could really use a search feature for Picks like there is for the PO's that would be super helpful or even have an option to sort by assending or desending order # rather than the defualt of when it was assigned to picker, as we have nearly 300 picks at one time and they are not always in order so it makes it extremely difficult to find what you are looking for sometimes.When it works, it works great.

2. If I had known how much time and effort it took to use the new feature, I probably would have waited another year to upgrade.I wanted to use this app so we could enter invoices/receipts we get from our vendors pick ups but the issue is most of our vendors have multi page invoices so we cant upload the full document unless we take several pictures for one invoice.

3. "Tracking vehicle mileage" is completely missing.I upgraded to 2021 (9/25/20) because of the receipt upload new feature included in the DT premier plus.

4. Normally this wouldn't bring it down to two stars, but with QuickBooks being mission critical to my business, this is a huge blow to the rating.The obnoxious sound it plays when you're the receipt app is awful.

5. It's not useful a sound, conveys nothing and hearing it every time a picture is snapped is too much.Even muting all phone sounds doesn't mute it so it overrides that even.

6. The scan feature does upload the information, but doesn't always get the correct date, vendor or amount.

7. so if you use it, make damn sure you want the order picked because once it's sent, your stuck with it...According to QuickBooks, I can track mileage with this app but where "Track vehicle mileage" is in the video, my app has "Warehouse".

8. Please allow us to scan multiple pages for one document rather than just a single picture.For the $550/year I'm now behind held hostage to you'd think I could at least track mileage with this app but I can't because I'm on Android.

9. It was a lot better and easier to just scan the documents whithin QBDT when that was available but now removed so this feature could be implanted.

10. I can upload receipts and bills but the documents don't show up in my document center.

11. Overall not worth the time to install nor worth the time to work with it.this like much of what Intuit does is on the edge of useful.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix QuickBooks Desktop Issues

1. Fix QuickBooks Desktop Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart QuickBooks Desktop: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the QuickBooks Desktop App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "QuickBooks Desktop" » Open QuickBooks Desktop » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for QuickBooks Desktop » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear QuickBooks Desktop app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from QuickBooks Desktop servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "QuickBooks Desktop" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check QuickBooks Desktop app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, QuickBooks Desktop might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall QuickBooks Desktop. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall QuickBooks Desktop then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing QuickBooks Desktop not working


2. Fix QuickBooks Desktop Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make QuickBooks Desktop be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to QuickBooks Desktop not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, QuickBooks Desktop may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
