Box Customer Insights

1. It's supposed to help organize files and folders yet doesn't have a duplicates function and if a picture (for example) is renamed, compressed or the date of last modification is changed, then it may be uploaded again no problem.

2. It wasn't a problem before, but now it's relentless.The app does what it says and Is great for storage, however, the app is prone to a specific glitch where it will calculate file sizes wrong and will say that you're over the allotted limit when you indeed are not.

3. The other issue is when anything with a transparent background is uploaded to Box there's no way to tell it apart from a white background; even if the image is opened it's still just white.This used to be a super-convenient app! It was excellent for backup of data and sharing of data.

4. I've found that way more intuitive and functional.As a phone app it functions great! Photo previews are not high quality in the app, but if you download your high quality pictures from box they will still be high quality.

5. For instance, when viewing files in a list the photo's on the side are so small it is hard to tell which picture is which.It does what it says it will.

6. To help this, at first lag of more than 20 or 30 seconds stop that upload (the tiny x in active loading), stop Box, and wait a few minutes.

7. On a chromebook, I wish the format would change slightly, because it still functions as if you are using it on a phone-sized screen.

8. It's a good enough app.. a little hard to get used to.. thus the 4 stars, but this is for an older version, since I've found in general I am Never happy I updated Any app.This app is used through my university.

9. Then the screen blanks and I am unable to view the image again even though it appears in list view.

10. It keeps moving your position in the document around so you end up typing in random places, adds extra empty lines on the bottom of your document, etc.

11. it might be good for Personal use but not for professors to upload lectures.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Box Issues

1. Fix Box Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Box: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Box App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Box" » Open Box » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Box » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Box app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Box servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Box" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Box app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Box might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Box. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Box then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Box not working


2. Fix Box Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Box be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Box not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Box may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
