About Transfer & Tagging

You must sign in using Sony Account to use this application. ・Wireless background transfers to smartphones/tablets is possible using the camera FTP transfer function.  - While maintaining continuous shooting performance, you can transfer still images in the background to a smartphone even while taking photos. ・You can quickly and reliably transfer still images protected in your camera to a smartphone with a wired connection. ・Hands-free high-speed caption input possible with voice recognition. ・After importing images with Voice Memos from a camera, the app can now automatically convert the speech into text as IPTC Metadata.

1. Can't connect to an RX10 iv, an GBP1800 camera and I can't background transfer nor IPTC tag images?! Imaging Edge is hopelessly clunky and unreliable too.

2. Camera has NFC! Of course not utilized! It's 2021 for sakes, Sony should be able to make wireless image transfer btw Sony A7R and Android reality, not a dream.

3. What the heck? Why won't a direct connection work? I need to have the direct connection for transfer speed...one shot at a time!Guaranteed Sony quality: horrible.

4. i have used the live remote aspect which is great if you want to do steady shots without touching the camera, only wish it worked for RAW file instead of the default JPEG.Moving back to Nikon.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Transfer & Tagging Issues

1. Fix Transfer & Tagging Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Transfer & Tagging: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Transfer & Tagging App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Transfer & Tagging" » Open Transfer & Tagging » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Transfer & Tagging » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Transfer & Tagging app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Transfer & Tagging servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Transfer & Tagging" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Transfer & Tagging app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Transfer & Tagging might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Transfer & Tagging. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Transfer & Tagging then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Transfer & Tagging not working


2. Fix Transfer & Tagging Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Transfer & Tagging be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Transfer & Tagging not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Transfer & Tagging may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
