1. Imaging Edge Mobile allows images/videos to be transferred to a smartphone/tablet, enables remote shooting, and provides location information to images captured by a camera. - The selection and transfer of images after shooting are no longer needed as the automatic background transfer function allows images to be transferred to a smartphone as they are captured. - High bit rate video files including 4K can be transferred. - You can view and transfer images in your camera from your smartphone even when the camera is turned off. - After transferring, you can immediately share your high quality images on social networks or through email. *1 See here for supported cameras.

2. This is convenient for capturing night views or water flowing scenes which need long-exposure, or macro shooting in which you need to avoid to directly touch the camera. *3 Models that support PlayMemories Camera Apps can use this feature by installing "Smart Remote Control" (in-camera app) on your camera in advance. - With cameras that have a location information linkage function, the location information acquired by the smartphone can be added to the captured image in your camera.

3. For supported models and detailed operation methods, see the support page below. - Even with cameras that do not have a location information linkage function, it is possible to add location information acquired by your smartphone to the photos saved on your smartphone during remote shooting. - You can save up to 20 camera settings in Imaging Edge Mobile.

4. Availability of video transfer and playback varies depending on smartphone in use. - You can capture photos/videos remotely while checking the live view of a camera on a smartphone.

Imaging Edge Customer Insights

1. It took me hours of research and trial and error, involving QR codes, various settings on the camera, and various settings on my phone to finally get a connection that allowed me to record GPS data on my Sony pictures, only to then discover that every time the App auto updates on my phone it loses connection with the camera, and I have to try and remember and repeat the whole frustrating process.Works well enough for the most part.

2. Plus, look at how long this issue has been ongoing? This is a months old issue and they still haven't fixed it.This app no longer works for the purpose of wirelessly transferring photos from my camera to my phone.

3. Doesn't matter that my phone and camera are connected to the same wifi network.

4. I really miss how easy it was with Play Memories to connect my camera, upload new photos, and back them up on a moments notice.

5. Now, deleted and re-uploaded the app countless times and have spent hours just trying to get the camera and phone to pair with no luck.

6. Why do we need to do all those extra steps? Just let me connect to my camera via Bluetooth and let me use an app to take photos like that.

7. You can connect to a camera once in a blue moon across multiple devices.

8. The current version of the app is useless, will not connect to your phone.

9. Reinstall app, restart phone, restart camera.

10. It used to be that sometimes I had to restart my phone before it would connect.

11. For the cost of Sony equipment, their software should be better than this.Nothing but frustration trying to download pictures to my phone.
