1. What’s more if things begin to feel a little repetitive you can listen to your own playlist on a third party app (such a Spotify) whilst still using the Freya app to keep track of your surges and coach you through each one. • You can switch between the 4-8 breathing pattern and the more manageable 3-6.
2. In fact the more you listen to the guided relaxations and positive affirmations, the more familiar they will become and the more effective the audio will be at helping you relax when it comes to birth.
3. Freya is the ONLY hypnobirthing-friendly contraction timer on the play store, designed specifically with hypnobirthing mums in mind - using appropriate terminology - but can be used by all.
4. In fact everything you learn through using Freya - mindfulness exercises, breathing techniques, the benefits of taking time out - are skills for life.
5. Positive affirmations have been proven to change the way your mind works and listening regularly will help you feel less anxious and more confident in the lead up to birth.
6. You can also use Freya post-birth any time you feel you could benefit from taking some deep breaths or need some help finding your zen.
7. You can also use Freya in pregnancy to help you relax and prepare for your birth.

1. I wouldnt use it again because of this! The perfect birth accompaniment! The music, surge timer and positive Affirmations were so so helpful during labour.
2. A music volume button is needed so it doesn't drown out affirmations.
3. Sometimes, when I would try to count through a surge myself, I would lose it a little bit, so having the app count and the relaxing music really made all the difference.
4. The only thing I'd have preferred was an easier way to start and stop the timer during surges - I found it difficult to press the button but that might have just been me! I'd highly recommend.
5. Also music off should let you hear affirmations and play your own soundtrack but it doesn't.
6. However, I found the timing to be missleading! It took us a while to notice that the times between surges are inclusive of the actual surge.
7. I want a refundSo the application is super nice, the scripts, the breathing, the surge counting will be useful during the labor.
8. I don't like that the music on background is lounder than the voice, I would like the option for music volume, not to close it.
9. Siobhan's voice is gentle as she narrates various different relaxation tracks which compliment 'surge' measuring.
10. It took the pressure off my husband having to count my surges for me while he was packing the car and talking to the midwife etc.
11. The music was very relaxing and the guiding voice was soothing.
